Baseball is almost here (Caribbean Series)

Anyone else following? I follow every year since it's a big deal in Venezuela and I grew up there watching it every year.

Winning clubs from Venezuela, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Dominican Republic meet at one of those nations (different country each year) to play 2 games against each other, whoever has the best record after that wins the title.

Plenty of MLB players there. 53rd edition

Winners All Time: Dominican Republic (18), Puerto Rico (14), Venezuela (7), Cuba (7), Mexico (5), Panama (1)

** Cuba and Panama were part of it between the late 40's and the early 60's but that's no longer the case
1st round of games were yesterday

Mexico 4 - Dominican Republic 3 ... in 15 innings, hell of a game

Venezuela 5 - Puerto Rico 3

"To be able to win the Caribbean Series is not only important for me, but it's for the entire country of Mexico," said outfielder Justin Christian, who recently signed with the Giants. "To be able to compete and play against the Latino countries is amazing."
