Wiggington can play all over the place. Played 2B a lot last year w/ the Orioles.

According to Jon Heyman of SI.com, Albert Pujols is "seeking A-Rod money" in his negotiations toward an extension with the Cardinals.
Pujols' representatives met Monday with Cardinals GM John Mozeliak and further meetings are planned throughout this week. It's unlikely that exact terms have been exchanged just yet, but they will need to be at some point. Alex Rodriguez landed a 10-year, $275 million deal from the Yankees in December of 2007. The Cardinals probably won't be willing to match that length, but they may offer a similar annual salary. If that does the trick, look for an extension to be signed before spring training. hometown discount you say?

If he takes 27.5 mil a year for less than 10 years, I'd say thats a decent hometown discount. With guys like Howard getting 25 mil a year, Pujols could probably haul a little over 30 mil if he really wanted to.

who is gonna give it to him?

RedSox wont if they sign Gonzalez long term, Yankees have Teixeira and i doubt either Pujols or Tex would DH.

Mets? Maybe.

What other teams could afford to give him that type of money and still field a competitive team?

Again, Pujols is not going anywhere.

Get used to seeing this as #3 and #4 in St. Louis' lineup

Well the cubs have one of the highest payrolls in the ML, and no longer owe Lilly or Lee money, if they upped their payroll just a couple mil they could afford that even with the terrible Zambrano and Soriano contracts.

If the White Sox chose not to bring back Konerko, they have nearly enough money to bring on that kind of contract.

Not to mention any club would probably increase its payroll to get Pujols considering the profits he would bring.

And as for fielding a competitive team, well we all know the Marlins managed to do it with scrubs and a low payroll, and therefore it would certainly be possible for a team to build cheaply around pujols with additional pieces.

Plus, its not so much the fact that others teams WOULD pay him that much, but just the idea that they COULD, might get the Cards to go that high. Plus a team could always make the contract grow over time when they would certainly have the payroll to fit him, and wouldn't have to add $30 mil immediately.

Too bad he's owed $16 mill per over the next 3 seasons. I like him.
