Wow this thread has taken a turn, from why the UFC only exist to PPV numbers. Where's the MMA vs. Boxing in a street fight or ring/octagon talk???
BTW at my job, trying to play devils advocate on who would win, a boxer or an MMA fighter in a street fight. They all laughed at me when I was defending a boxer. These weren't young 20 year olds either.
I'm at work too and I asked one of my buddies who he thought would win between Pacquiao and GSP. This guy is a HUGE Pacquiao fan but he seemed hesitant to say he would win. He told me that GSP's shoot is so quick and deceiving that he doesn't know if Manny would be quick enough to defend it.
IMO, that's unfair to give Pacquiao to GSP, his weight and strength alone would destroy Manny. Now lets pit Jose Aldo vs. Manny Pacquiao, pretty much same weight and size, and again I'd have to say it would be over quick with Jose Aldo chopping him down. You and I know how devastating Aldo's Muay Thai is, and I'm a really big fan of Pacqiuao, but the way a boxer leaves their leg out there as a primary target, is really suspect for an early tko.
Very true about GSP/Manny. Manny vs. Aldo would be AWESOME though. Both are quick as well, but you're absolutely right about those leg kicks. Also would chop Manny down like a tree. I'm a HUGE Pac fan, but his dancing around wouldn't stand a chance against those leg kicks.
Aldo against Floyd is the same thing. Although I hope Aldo would land a knee to Pretty Boy Floyd.
Mayweather, would be seriously frustrated fighting Aldo. He'd feel on of Aldo's leg kicks and immediately try to get in the box with him. Desperately trying to connect Aldo with a right or left hook, Aldo shoots in, ending it with elbows to the head and a simple arm-bar which they hardly use in MMA now. That's just how I see it, Mayweather would have to try and catch Aldo in a flurry to have a chance, cause Mayweather isn't a KO artist either.
And for you boxing fans this is Jose Aldo:

It is pretty awesome, considering the sport has only been around for 15 years. BTW, notice anything about the dates of those fights? 6 of the 7 were before UFC became relevant. I don't think that's a coincidence.
BTW, since 2008 UFC has had 6 events to draw over 1,000,000 buys. Over the same span of time, HBO boxing has had 4.
Give UFC the respect it deserves, or keep getting pwned. Your choice.

Boxing numbers is the only thing it can compare to MMA or UFC for that matter. In a real fight boxers get owned.....unless they have a gun or knife then I guess they do have a chance.
