I am late to this thread but do you guys like the expansion of the Pac-10, do you think the Pac-10 should go after Boise State, UNLV and two other teams to get to 16?
IDK I kind of like the expansion, but only if it get the Pac-10 their own network or contracts with ESPN, the thing with Fox did not really work out too well.

Agree with the bold 100%
-Boise State will never get invited to the PAC, not strong enough Academics. Oregon State is already kind of a stain on the carpet in terms of Undergrad Academics. Although ASU use to be down there too until our Dean Crow completely changed our school to some respectability.
-BYU would get the invite if it wasn't for them being too ultra-mormon
-Colorado State fits the PAC-10 academics, but their athletic program is way too weak.
-Other Tier 3 schools to be considered (SD State, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah State). Personally, I think SD State has the best chance of getting a PAC-10 invite, they could establish a strong program pretty fast because the PAC-10 HEAVILY relies on SD recruiting. And SD is a big market. Idaho/Nevada/New Mexico/Utah State too small of a market to be considered.
-UNLV is a Tier 4, so they are a possibility if PAC-10 wants to bring in a weaker (Academically) school.
Personally, the other invites I would rank:
1) SD State
2) BYU
3) New Mexico
4) Colorado State
5) Nevada
6) UNLV
*I can only really see SD State and BYU getting offered, though.

Do you seriously think UCLA/Stanford/Cal are going to let a (Cali) State School in the Pac 10?
If they let even one in, the political pressure the FSU/SJSU etc into the Pac would be very strong.
Those schools cock blocked State schools in Cali a long time ago, and for good reason.
Besides, the Pac should just hold serve for now. Non of the available candidates (BYU notwithstanding, but they will NEVER be in the Pac) bring much of anything, at least not enough to justify the extra mouth to feed. The Pac already owns the San Diego market, SDSU wouldn't bring much more.
The problem is one of geography. There just isn't the concentration of people and big schools outside the coastal area out here like there is back East. They thought they'd solved the problem by poaching the Big 12 South, but that hasn't worked out yet. I still think they jumped the gun inviting Utah. They should have found a way to rescind their offer to Colorado, or just stayed at 11.
Whatever tentative peace the Big 12-2 has right now will be short lived. Mizzou wants OUT. ATM is still pissed. Baylor/Kansas/KSU/Iowas State are hanging on to this thing for dear life. That Conference is a powder keg in a lightning storm. I give it a few years and that thing blows up.
Pac may regret adding sub-par school now just to get to a "magic" number then being forced to kick someone out later if a great school like Texas becomes available again.

Just kinda thinking to myself, but why not add Fresno St to the PAC 10/12? They put out a very respectable team every year.
I don't know too much about the situation so can someone enlighten me?

From what I understand, Pac-10/12 will only accept schools that maintain high academic standards, they want to be the "Ivy" league of the west. So am not certain but am going to guess Fresno is out due to academics.
