The 2010 South Africa World Cup thread

After watching some teams in the last few weeks look out for Argentina. They played germany in munich last month and where very impressive. Very aggressive forechecking style defense, and very strong individual offensive players (Messi). If Maradona can keep himself in check, the Argentines should be hard to beat.

My top favorite remains Spain. This team is simply awesome offensively.

Argentina's chances would be ALOT greater if Maradona hadn't found a way to mess up with Riquelme and keep him off the squad. I root for them hard as hell, but I'd be shocked if they even make it to semifinals, let alone win it all.

Their team is loaded with talent (Spain). Casillas, Puyol, Sergio Ramos, Iniesta, Xavi, Fabregas, David Villa, Torres. Ridiculous.

Am I gonna have to start locking every soccer thread? You guys can't seem to handle it.

What's wrong with a little friendly sh**talking amongst fellow fans? We all know we won't know anything until June 11th and just enjoying talking smack. It wouldn't be as much fun if everyone was "lets just hope everyone has fun!". If you want that, then go watch 2nd graders play soccer at the YMCA where they don't keep score and everyone gets a trophy lol

This poll was voted on by the fans. I like Chicharito a lot but he only has like 4 caps vs weak opponents. Vela & Chicharito shouldn't be up there with those others. But Mexico has a strong fan base which is why they were voted #6. Kind of like Yao Ming making the All-Star game every year.
How many days till the first game.

He has somewhat of a point but he can't completely prove that the fan base did that because for all we know a good portion voted for other team forwards.
