I think it has to do with the fact that he's a know-it-all, hypocritical whiner.

He will spit hate all day long, even at the expense of his own credibility.

Instead of admitting that his own organization was willing to look the other way while one of their stars was juicing, he still opts to talk smack about the Giants and Barry Bonds, even though it makes him look silly.
