AB, how much do we save with the release of Brooks?

$5.2M in cap and cash when the roster is set, right now it's $465K less as Beathard took his spot on the top 51

So, I was looking at McD's contract on overthecap.com and, I'm reading this right, we actually will lose against the cap this year by trading him? I'm not worried about it because I think it's a positive that he's traded, but it looks like he'll cost 7.7 mil in dead money against a 3.3 or so cap figure this year. Is this correct or is it going to be different because of the trade?

No we didn't lose cap room, he for some reason has his $2.1M base factored in as it's GTD

Cap Savings:

$2,765,625 in 2017
$1.8M in 2018
$6.5M in 2019
$7.8M in 2020
$6.4M in 2021

Dead Money:

$1.4M in 2017
$4.2M in 2018

ok, good deal - thanks for the clarification.
Playing the what if game, next year let's say they do go after Cousins. Can they give him a 6 year $120 million contract with a $60 roster bonus all in year 1 so his base salary would be $10 million per year. Then in year 1 he would count for $70 million against the cap but going forward only $10 million in base per year?

Hypothetically yes, they have $51.7M right now for 2018, and $71M in 2017 as of now, of course those are estimates, not 100%. They will carryover whatever isn't used from 2017 into 2018.

I doubt they'd do something like that though, that's a lot for one season. Figuring they'd likely want to upgrade the roster more in 2018 with Hyde, Reid, Johnson and others FAs to be. They need CB help, potentially another WR, hopefully they re-sign Reid, plus if Ward plays well, extend him, and lower his $8.526M cap hit in 2018.

Ward might not make it to the field this year
Lol

That'd be bad cause his $8.526M would be GTD if he couldn't pass a physical next March when that option becomes fully GTD(only GTD for injury now)

Update?

I have us at $65,020,369 under.
Not sure if this is the right forum but.....
Let's say all the different groups of people boycotting the NFL makes a fairly large dent in revenue this year. Is the projected cap number going to be affected at all? If so would it affect 2018 or is that number already projected so that it would affect 2019 cap numbers?
K'Waun Williams deal: 3yr/$8.885M, $3M signing bonus, $250K yearly per game roster bonuses, $50K yearly workout bonuses, base salaries of $1.25M, $1.55M, and $2.15M

Cap numbers, $2.3M(18), $2.6M(19), $3.2M(20)
So apparently we were going to owe him $9.5M(roughly)this year. Cutting instead of trading him we ate close to $7M but gave him freedom to choose his next team. And also we lose $5.2M for 2018 whether it was now or before next season. So we roughly owe Bow $14.7M and he's not on the team... Can you confirm this AB?
