Those numbers don't include Bush, that reflected Erik Pears' terms.

Matt MaioccoVerified account@MaioccoCSN
Cutting Jonathan Martin creates nearly $500K of cap room on the #49ers top-51 with his $1.042M salary replaced by someone making $510K.
also,
@DTNCA According to @Jason_OTC, the 49ers' draft class will eat up only $2.15M in top-51 cap space to sign. They have $7+M in space now.

I just can't imagine how we went through 10 million that quick lol. I believe at 17 mil on the 11th, we had torreys numbers in there and dockets... so how did that happen

I hope I'm wrong but I feel like we overpaid for wright. I would have offered half of that for him.

You are right so far. But I hope Balke is right again with picking up a cb that excels here. Wright does not look good at all but on this defense, a lot of average players look like pro bowlers. I'm still hoping we cut him and use the 3 mil for someone else that is good

Doubtful they cut Wright, unless he absolutely stinks for us during the pre season and O.T.A's. I'd prefer to see us shave 3-4 million off our 51 man payroll bu cutting Dawson, and trading Brooks for what ever we can get. Granted we could get more savings this year, if we June 1 cut Brooks, but I'd rather take the cap hit this year, instead of spreading it out over 2 years. There's nothing out there in FA this year that we'd need that money for, so we might as well reap the savings next year by not having dead money from Brooks.

Well They would only save $1.7M, as Wright got a $1.5M signing bonus when he signed with us.
Also the NFL moved the June 1 rule up to May 12th now for this year and the future, so no more June 1 cuts.

I know what cutting Wright would save us, I was commenting to the guy right before me, on how to shed 3 million. I go to overthecap to get a rough look at contracts and all that good stuff. Weird thing though, is that they have J Smith as already retired, and his dead money on there. What minor tweaks would you do AB if you were GM right now? Would you May 12th cut Brooks, try to trade him, keep him? What about other moves like cutting Dawson, or reworking someones contract?

A.Davis
Dawson ($500K of it)
Brock

Also the following bonuses are given out officially tomorrow.

Kilgore gets a $600K roster bonus

Hmm, Tough to say to be honest. Probably I would wait on Brooks to see what the draft brings us as far as an OLB, I doubt he gets moved to ILB due to his weight. Dawson has a $500K guarantee in his base salary if he is on the roster at the end of tomorrow(I believe 4PM Eastern is the deadline), so the cap savings reduce by $500K, I doubt they cut him, it wouldn't make sense to release him without an option already in house.
I would redo Kap's deal since we need cap space for the season, and to pay off roster bonuses and Aldon's potential incentives.

Update:
Erik Pears' deal is actually a 2yr/$5.7M deal, with $1M in LTBE incentives for play time this year.
Also the 49ers adjusted Joe Staley's deal, his cap number reportedly goes up from $6.4M to $7.6M.
