All of our key FA's are going to cost at least 7m per, if you compare to contracts recently signed by comparable talents.

Alex ~ Orton just signed 1yr/9m extension
VD ~ Gates 5yr/36.175m extension, 20.4m guaranteed, 7.235m per
Goldson ~ Rolle 5yr/37m, 15m guaranteed, 7.4m per
Manny ~ Pace 6yr/42m 22m guaranteed, signed in '08, 7m per
Franklin ~ Wilfork 5yr/40m 25m guaranteed, 8m per

Alex and VD are the most likely to be retained. If we only have 30m to use, then there is no way we will be able to keep the other 3. However, I think we can keep 2 of them if we restructure or release guys like Clements and Lewis, and go with younger and cheaper backups. I also agree on Norris and Snyder being let go, should be enough to keep Spikes around.

We should still be ok. Paarang will take care of us. He always does.

updated, after the lewis restructuring.
updated.
updated again.
updated once again, with info on Davis and Iupati deals.

If we are at a 140M cap, then cap room for 2011 is 50M, if a 147M cap, then at 57M for 2011.
Are there any discounts we get from Brandon Jones, Balmer and Robinson signing w/ Seattle? In that when a player is cut and then resigned the salary they receive from their new team is subtracted from the previous team in a discount.
updated with Vernon Davis' numbers.

I like those numbers because IMO we are going to need a corner & a QB. Hopefully we can get a good corner in the draft & find a QB thats ready to roll. No more time to develop, I feel like the longer we are searching the shorter our window gets with Frank and others.
ok, found out more info on VD's deal, he got an 10M bonus guaranteed in 2010.

here is his numbers.

Year Salary Base Salary Signing Bonus Other Bonus
2010 $13,874,000 $3,874,000 $10,000,000 0
2011 $5,308,000 $4,708,000 $600,000
2012 $6,351,000 $5,751,000 $600,000
2013 $6,672,000 $6,072,000 $600,000
2014 $5,300,000 $4,700,000 $600,000
2015 $4,950,000 $4,350,000 $600,000

Now, all his salary in 2010, 2011 and 2012 are guaranteed. While his 2013-2015 base salaries are non-guaranteed.

$1.112M of his 2012 base that is guaranteed was moved to 2009's cap room that was remaining. Smart business, thus meaning even though he will make 5.571M in base for 2012, we save 1.112M anyway, since it is paid now.

lets revisit this,

Manny, does not deserve 7M a yr IMO, nor does Dashon deserve 7.4M

Franklin might be the only guy deserving close to his comparables. Alex jury is still out, and VD already is highest paid TE now.

AB, you are a numbers guy so here is one for you, speaking of "dead money", which this team personifies. Just exactly, in your opinion, how much does the leadership failure at HC decr the chances of getting our new stadium built? I know the dreadful display put on week after week is hurting the team, but what in your opinion is the breaking point at which the yorks realize that with a product this bad they may fail to get the backing they need to build a new stadium?

Do you even believe there is such a thing, or point?

I dont know what to think, we come out flat every week, and why would anyone wanna back us with a new stadium. Im just torn, on whether I want this team to get a new coach or not, I like Sing, but he just doesnt seem to have IT. If that makes sense.
