Probably similar to his current deal. Some form of a per game roster bonuses, workout bonuses, probably a $10M signing bonus seems fair(I wouldn't be surprised if he does re-sign, and takes a $7.5M signing bonus, like others have).

But I don't know if it happens anytime soon. But I would expect them to backload it a bit in 2017 and 2018, depending on whether it's a 5yr or 6yr deal.

If your referring to Kap's new deal he shouldn't effect 14 cap. He got an extention. AB correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeah updated it the other day. I have them at $5.1M, NFLPA has them at $5.7M, not sure where I'm off by $600K. But it's close enough,, might be an additional credit applied to the team.

Hopefully we just roll over this remaining 5 mil for 2015.

AB - How come Joe Staley is so underpaid compared to other offensive tackles? Did he get a large signing bonus up front that has resulted him being outside a top 10 paid tackle?

At the time he was one of the highest paid OTs in the NFL. When he signed the deal it included an upfront $12M or so roster bonus, which was paid on the cap all in 2010.

Now that he is extended, I imagine he got his base salary restructured down to the minimum, and converted the rest to a signing bonus, and just added on 2 years.
Something to think of for 2015.

I know I frown on restructures, but I believe Kap will redo his deal next year, or else they would of made it low for 2015, since he could have a $12.4M base if he hits the requirements, which we hope he does. He can lower all the way down to minimum, which would be $745K, create a big $11.655M signing bonus, prorated at $2.331M a year for max of 5 years, saves max of $11.124M in cap room with the restructure. Much needed cap relief. Then I wouldn't see them doing it again, it wouldn't be needed. 2016-2020 is good in cap health wise.
website updated, now around $7.9M under the cap.

Could be an awesome way to extend Crabtree & a couple others if needed & put the 49ers in great position to extend others or bring in whatever free agents are needed.
Thank you, Brooks!!!

Damn, had him on PUP to start 2014, missed his name.
do you think acker would be plucked if they tried to put him on the ps?

I didn't think Cooper would, so anything is possible, maybe if they limit his play, he is less likely to be poached off waivers come end of pre-season.
AB is there a deadline to rollover cap space for 2015?

Has to be in written form before the league year begins I believe. Basically once the season ends, teams have a period to get the written waiver to carryover unused cap space to the next year. Every team does it now. Except 3 teams this year, who actually ended up negative on the cap due to Not Likely To Be Earned Incentives being EARNED, lol.

check this page, http://www.nflplayers.com/cap/ they have the list of every teams cap room, and such. Pay no attention to the near $10M for us, it includes Boone's $2M base which doesn't count until he reports.
