AB question: if the 9ers spend under the cap in 2013 does the amount under then roll over to 2014? If the 9ers dont sign goldson, walker or any other free agents, alex smiths contract gets traded, akers cut (maybe some others too) could the 9ers then roll in to the 2014 cap year with 10 to 12 million of cap space (from 2013) to use on the big resignings of davis iiupati aldon smith kaep?

Yes the cap space can be carried over for 2014, and so on for the years after.
CAP SET AT $123.9M according to Chris Mortensen.
I am pretty ignorant to the cap, dead money, etc.

When I looked at the roster and salaries for next year, the primary targets to be cut IMHO are:
Name Pos. Signed 2013 Salary Signing OATSB Roster Workout Option Incentive Base Rogers,
Carlos CB 2015 $7,344,531 $1,475,000 $19,531 $250,000 $100,000 $0 $0 $5,500,000
Whitner, Donte SS 2013 $4,933,334 $833,334 $0 $0 $250,000 $0 $0 $3,850,000
Akers, David PK 2013 $3,616,668 $566,668 $0 $0 $0 $0 $50,000 $3,000,000
Haralson, Parys OLB 2013 $2,870,000 $0 $0 $200,000 $100,000 $0 $0 $2,570,000
$18,764,533 $2,875,002 $19,531 $450,000 $450,000 $0 $50,000 $14,920,000
Is there a cap reason why we have t cut akers yet? Is it more advantagous after a certain date? I thought this guy was as good as gone considering his performance and salary.

Good question. But maybe it's not a sure thing he is cut. Maybe he gets restructured? Since we are already under maybe there isn't a sense of urgency.
AB question: what are the cap consequences of cutting carlos rodgers in 2013? and if we hold on to him and then cut him in 2014 what then? I can't see him on the roster in 2015 at all at his salalry.

$1.1 million saved. No reason to cut him without a replacement yet. Same goes for Whitner.

Not sure on Akers guys. Not sure why they are waiting.

Cutting Rogers equates to 6.244 in dead money? And cutting whitner equates to 3.833 in dead money? WTF

Which is why Carlos Rogers and Whitner are here to stay.....

This isn't accurate. Whitner has 1 year left, is counting nearly 5 mil against our cap, and only has about 1 mil in dead money should we trade or cut him. So we essentially save about 4 million by dumping him one way or another. (if we so choose to)

Rogers is the biggest dead money, over 5M, where Whitner is 833k, save $4.1m with a cut of Whitner.
2013 page is updated. Some new info, Alex's deal no longer has his incentives and workout bonus, they must of did a quiet redo to help cap wise for both us and KC.

We are now under the cap by $1,642,425

Alex will save us $8.5m, and Akers $3m, with the current cap room we will have around $13,142,425 in cap room, without any redos or releases of say Goodwin, Haralson, Whitner, or redo of J.Smith.

Kind of surprising it's been all quiet on that front.
