I'm expecting a little regression next year for JG in terms of individual stats. Hard enough for a QB to put up the numbers he did in 3 straight games let alone 5 games. Offseason on offense will definitely focus on upgrading our running game.
Ideally, I want us to be rushing for at least 150 with JG passing for 250 and killing the opponent whenever we need it.

It worked. Goff can still develop, but considering our coach and Jimmy, I think he'll be overshadowed the way our legendary QB's overshadowed their division rival QB's like Bartowski and Herbert and many others during the dynasty years.

IMO, the most impressive thing about Jimmy this year, has been ,learning the system in a very short time.
And then performing the way he did,was very impressive
I think the INT thing clears up after a full offseason. He couldn't have been completely comfortable
with the WR's. Chemistry and trust take time and now they will have that.
I was also impressed with Kittle. A lot of people, myself included were wanting to see him in horns predraft.
McVay had his heart set on Gerald Everett. While he hasn't played a ton this year, you can see why we took him.
He had moments where he really shined.Appears to have very good hands, speed for a TE.
His after the catch ability has the potential to be special.
I appreciate your honest assessment of Goff Niners816.
That's not always the case when talking to fans of a rival team.
I really enjoy talking football and I'm not too proud to admit that I
think you guys got an absolute steal in Jimmy and it looks
like both of us have hired two potentially really good HC's in McVay and Shanny II.
I think both our teams have good days ahead.
I'm tired of having to see Pete Carroll get to the playoffs year after year.
I welcome the days where the 49er,Rams are battling for the crown in the west every year.
Gonna be some awesome games between us,coming up.
I agree....it's been since the late 80s (with the exception of 2001) since we both had our s**t together at the same time. Our dynasty had Steve go down and hit cap hell by the time the greatest show on turf hit.
As to Jimmy picking up the scheme, that was remarkable. I think Kyle helped him a bit by featuring some stuff that was common between his WCO and what NE was doing. I also noticed some plays that were ripped right out of the NE playbook That's good coaching imo, and as this marriage continues will result in a really nice offensive system. The boot action stuff was the newer stuff Jimmy had to get used to because no one really does it as much as Kyle does (well, McVay too as their system are pretty close to each other). Personally, I want to see what we look like with a fortified OL and Garçon back to give us 2 legit Oustide WR. Also, I'm hoping for a FA WR signing. All-in-all, I'm just stoked how much further along we are than last year at this time. I'm sure the feeling is the same for your Rams.
I agree 816, as soon as Jimmy's signed, I can't wait for the rest of the offseason moves they will take. I totally want to see the bolded above, come true.

No doubt.
I think it should be put into law that any team that jeff fisher coached should be given 8 first round picks
the year after of his firing, even though, said team would need way more than that to fully recover.

You guys under Fisher, reminded me of where we were in 2007-2010ish. During that span we were a fairly talented team that should have been hitting at that 9-7 to 11-5 range but never got above 8-8 due to piss poor coaching. That's what was so frustrating about that period for us. It took Harbaugh to come in and take advantage of the talent and it was very enjoyable despite how it all fell apart. You guys had some talent it was just getting under utilized especially on the offensive side of the ball. It's funny how a QB looks when he actually gets a QB guy as a coach.
It just sucked because we bottomed out In 2004 and 2005, But wasted 4-5 years on s**t coaching. The Harbaugh era was enjoyable for about 3 seasons then all the sideshow s**t started happening and we basically bottomed out again.
It just feels like we are getting back to our roots. We have a variant of the WCO and are even running a defense that heavily rooted in the old George Seifert ways. If this plays out like I hope it does it will make the debacle that was the end of the Harbaugh era and getting our teeth bashed in by Seattle almost worth it.

Can't say I have ever hated a rams coach, even the bad ones, until now.
It's wasn't just that he's a terrible coach,It's the fact that, one,he was allowed to stay so long.
Two,that the man never took responsibility for any shortcomings of the team.
Even after he was fired,he blamed his firing on "never being part of the plan for the new stadium"
I not sure if you heard, but right before the Rams clinched the division,he responded to a question about the Rams success this year.
He stated that he thinks that he had a lot to do with the Ram's current success, because he built the roster.
Needless to say twitter caught fire with laughter and jokes about Fisher ginormous ego and delusional outlook.
"It's funny how a QB looks when he actually gets a QB guy as a coach."
+1000 to this.We consider this past year Goffs rookie year, because last years staff probably did more damage than good.
I expected more out of Mike Singletary. He just seemed like he would make a good coach.
Never understood the apparent love the front office had for Jim Tomsula. He reminds me of fisher in his coaching philosophy.

Tomsula never made a lick of sense. I wanted Mike Shanahan paired with Kyle for the 2015 seasons. I liked the thought of perhaps setting up a coach in waiting sceniro for Kyle, having them work with Kap and if Kap was broken I wanted them picking our next QB. Unfortunately, logic wasnt at a premium then and as fans we were subjected to an absolute s**tshow.
This also makes me think of the appointing of Singletary for 2009. If the niners would have just waited 2 weeks, Mike Shanahan, Mike Holmgren and Jon Gruden were all available. I kinda have a feeling Holmgren would have took the job is offered. That would have mark the return of the WCO and our roots.

A defensive minded coach always is at the mercy of his OC. Look at Seadderall, Cheat just fired all of his offensive coaching staff, and I foresee an offensive coaching merry-go-round like what we had to endure during the Nolan/Singletary years. I'm so thankful our brilliant OC won't be let go unless our HC is fired.
