Oh boy. How soon we forget.
Smith

After all that mess we finally have a viable QB who looks great in just his second game starting, and it's still not good enough for some. We're fielding a high school squad and JimmyG actually makes us look like an NFL team.
Kudos

HOU defense tried to trick JG with some trap defense and JG was not having it. From last week, we saw JG take what's given when when running the Fade-Out (Ohio) concept vs Quarters.

This is what HOU is trying to do on the play below. The defender to note is the CB (blue). He's going to fake as if he's carrying #1 up the sideline, but will peel off to jump the #2 WR (slot).
The safeties are aligned at Quarters depth with the CBs also in off coverage. Looks like Quarters and JG has the Fade-Out combination to his right.
JG takes the snap and looks to his right. The blue CB let's the #1 go by and is ready to Jump the route from the #2. JG thought about targeting the #2, but pulls it back when he sees the CB lurking in the bushes.
Progress to the vertical stretch over the middle of the field where Hyde's Drag route attracts the attention of orange LB, freeing up Goodwin.
For a guy making only his 4th career start, he didn't fall for this trick by HOU's defense.

I feel playing for NE gave him a nice inside scoop on what Texans do.

Can someone explain the rule pertaining to the play where the Texans WR DeAndre White "gave himself up" and ended the play on the field while not being touched down? Was that a correct call?
If he would have gotten up and advanced it further downfield or scored a TD would he have been down earlier by "giving himself up" without being touched?

Just another rule/way to screw a team
