I didn't follow the start of his career in Jacksonville, but he was a player I really liked coming out of the draft. Squatty, athletic DT that is a quick and slippery pass rusher. Day is a great fit in this scheme, and he's only 23 years old.

The #49ers claimed defensive lineman Sheldon Day off waivers from the Jaguars. The 49ers had an open roster spot after releasing Tony McDaniel last week.

According to Jags fans, they only let him go because there's no spot for him. They're filled to the brim with DL. I really like this pickup.

Really surprised to see him get cut since he was one of the better rookie DL last year. Great pickup and guess we just benefit from the Jaguars having an embarrassment of riches at DL. Day could start on atleast 10 NFL teams and is only 23.
