I think it was Bowman's agent that leaked this.

Definitely leaked by his agent. Considering they started seeking trades on Monday night and this didn't leak until they were about to release him on Friday morning, I actually say this is a pretty great job by the organization to keep this under wraps.

Bowmans agent sent a message to every team in the league. You expect that it wouldn't get out?

This definitely wasn't a leak by the front office. A 'leak' would be something like Shanahan and the players not getting along.

When one of your longtime studs tells your GM he wants to be traded, "word" is going to get out. I wouldn't be so quick to blame this on Lynch...Bowman's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, sent out letters to the 31 other teams telling them his client had asked to be traded. Still think that's Lynch's fault? Come on, man. Lynch did work out a trade, but it wasn't somewhere Bowman wanted to go and so he asked for his release. I think Navarro understood it was only a matter of time before Foster took over the MIKE position. I hope he understands he'll never be the player he was before that cheap shot in Seattle. He can still be of some value on a contending team, and that's why he asked to be traded. This isn't Baalke...this is John Lynch. Opposite sides of the coin, dude.

No leak confirmed. Bow released, not shopped.
All those #53 Jersys in the stands.
Just like that.
This is based on the assumption that there are fans in the stands.

Not Lynch's fault Bowman acted like a little b***h instead of accepting reality.
Healthy Bowman was great. Old injured Bowman is all about ego. buh-bye.

Great players are driven by an ego that will not allow them to quit or take a back seat to anyone. It is part of why they are great.
To me, this almost has the same feel as when Montana went to KC: Great player. Great presence. No longer what they once were so they are moved.

Montana still played well, he was just too old and we had a younger guy stepping in. Different situations. Bowman cant play at a high level.
Montana didn't go cry mid-season like a baby and quit on his team.

Not sure it had to come to this. Contract restructure and a 12 month graduated return plan, so he doesn't have to cryo freeze his legs for two hours after every game.
This sux.
