Unfortunately that could be 6 weeks at least.

D line did a little better against the run, I bet last year Carolina would of had alot more rushing yards. Hoyer made a few bad decisions IE missing Taylor on the 4 yard line. Sailed one over Goodwins hands in the 3rd I think. S. Thomas and Buckner, and AA need to produce more as far as getting after the QB. Seattles awful o line should prove interesting.
That taylor goal line play was maybe 50-50. Luke jumped the route before hoyer turned his head. And with 2 defenders trailing a tipped pass would have been a pick. It was an acceptable bite out of the ball.
The sailed one (the one i am thinking of) was a near perfevt pass but goodwin was held.
I agree they need more pressure from the DL. But cam is difficult to rush.

The Panthers do not have one of the best defenses in the NFL.
Don't let last year's results influence you. Carolina has a lot of quality performers on defense. It is true our OLGs helped them to look better today, however, they still have 5 or 6 guys that are Pro Bowl quality on defense.

You have that many penalties it is impossible to win. And what is up with the multiple illegal formations?

Bungles scored 0 points at home, at least we weren't them

The lack of pass rush (and interior pressure in particular) was more concerning to me than the atrocious Oline play -- the Oline is supposed to suck.
If formation penalties continue to be a problem of offense this year it's going annoying as heck.

It's a new scheme, and Kyle runs the most complicated offense in the league, so it will take time.
Problem is, how many of these players on offense are even going to be here next year? Not many, if this keeps up.

New blocking scheme means some growing pains. When it comes to the OL, the guards are the main issue and that will be a season long issue. It is something that they will have to address in the offseason.

Yes. How do not understand how the outside receiver misses he is covering the inside guy.

In the 4th qtr in obvious running plays our line and D could not make a stop in 3rd down. The game was lost, but a stop would have been a small pickup and chance for the O to try some plays. It was almost as if we waived the white flag and had a gentlemans surrender.

It's week one. They held a team to 3 points and 217 yards. I'd be pretty surprised to not see them ranked in the top 3 Ds after tomorrow night.

Sure they do. A down season last year doesnt change the fact that they are loaded in the front seven. I expect a rebound season from their defense.

I really agree with these two. Goodwin was trying to run through an arm bar for about 10 yards. Not sure how the ref missed that one. And I was thinkin gthe same thing as you regarding the Taylor flair at the goal line. that would have been a dangerous pass.

Between Baalke leaving the shelf bare, around 20 rookies or ufda's plus the transition to different offensive and defensive systems will tend to make the team look bad when playing a top team. Anyone who had high expectations weren't being realistic. It will take a year or two and lots of talent.

Well, I got to tell you our performance was rusty. Though I could honestly say that for the Falcons and most of the NFL in general. I really felt like you guys were in it right until the 4th quarter, especially after that CMC fumble. Many things didn't go your way, and that Foster injury should never have happened.
All in all, thanks for letting me chill around here for a bit and give my side. Good luck to you guys for the rest of the season. You're better than what the stat sheet shows, believe me.
