It doesn't matter. If it is true he dogged it during a practice play, and got cut because of it, that sends a HUGE message to the team. No more taking plays off. 100% effort expected a 100% of the time.
It's not common to only keep 8 OL...9-10 is pretty standard.

TE 46 Cole Hikutini(2019) - Stash player for 2018 when we can unload Vance McDonald and his contract

I tried to do the same but read up that his injury did not require surgery so he's 100%. He might have to come down with an injured toe nail at some point.

Hang nail infections are serious business!

Yeah, esp. 1 day before cut downs. They get really bad around that time.
It'll be interesting to see what guys it comes down to.

I really hope we keep Hikutini on the roster, he's gonna be a great receiving TE. I really hope we trade McDonald too. I think Kittle could start day 1 if need be.

Also, I really wouldn't be surprised to see Magnuson on the 53 man roster, maybe even starting at some point this season. He's gonna fit in really well in Shan's system, he also provides the ability to play OT as OG, but I think he'll be better at guard.

As much as we all like Lorenzo Jerome.. I could see him being cut, but probably on the PS. With Reid, Tartt, and Ward at S, it'll be tough. Maybe we keep him, hopefully.

If any of these guys get placed on PS, I don't think we retain them.. I'd rather move on from some of the older average guys and let these young pups develop. Just my take
My dog Harris is gone... I wanted to root for him, I knew there was no point this year with Bibbs and Breida in the mix for the #4 spot.

OT: 74 Joe Staley(2019)/ 77 Trent Brown(2018)/ 76 Garry Gilliam(2017)

DE: 96 Solomon Thomas(2020)/ 91 Arik Armstead(2018)/ 98 Ronald Blair(2019)/ 95 Tank Carradine(2017)/ 49 Pita Taumoepenu(2020)
DT: 99 DeForest Bucklner(2019)/ 92 Quinton Dial(2019)
NT: 90 Earl Mitchell(2020)/ 93 D.J. Jones(2020)
OLB: 51 Malcolm Smith(2021)/ 55 Ahmad Brooks(2017)/ 56 Reuben Foster(2020)/ 54 Ray-Ray Armstrong(2018)/ 45 Dekoda Watson(2019)/ 57 Eli Harold(2018)
MLB: 53 NaVorro Bowman(2022)/ 50 Brock Coyle(2017)

PK: 9 Robbie Gould(2018)
P: 5 Bradley Pinion(2018)
LS: 86 Kyle Nelson(2018)

My 7 Inactives: QB Beathard, OG Fusco, DE Taumoepenu, NT Jones, OLB Harold, FS Jerome the 7th is tough, could be Taylor, or Carradine.

NFI:

TE 46 Cole Hikutini(2019) - Stash player for 2018 when we can unload Vance McDonald and his contract

10-Man Practice Squad:

QB 1 Nick Mullens
RB 49 Matt Breida
WR 83 Victor Bolden
OG 60 John Flynn
OT 62 Erik Magnuson
OT 71 John Theus
DE 64 Noble Nwachukwu
OLB 60 Jimmie Gilbert
CB/FS 47 Adrian Colbert
SS 46 Malik Golden

Hardest for me to decide is a 6th WR or just 5, a 4th RB or just 3, Lorenzo Jerome or Adrian Colbert(I have Jones as a lock he has $750K GTD in his deal, I don't see him being cut, we save like $365K if that), How many OL, a 9th or just 8. Aaron Lynch vs Pita Taumoepenu

Key Cuts:

RB Kapri Bibbs, Raheem Mostert
FB Tyler McCloskey
WR Aaron Burbridge, DeAndre Carter, Rashad Ross, DeAndre Smelter, Kendrick Bourne
TE Garrett Celek, Blake Bell
DL Chris Jones, Aaron Lynch
C Bret Treadway, Tim Barnes
OG Evan Goodman
OT Norman Price, Darrell Williams Jr.
OLB Donavin Newsom
CB Zach Franklin, Prince Charles Iworah, Keith Reaser(Traded for a 7th)
S Vinnie Sunseri
PK Nick Rose

I was going to post mine but you pretty much nailed my exact prediction. Only difference would be that I think Armstrong may not make it, coming off that injury last year and it would seem excessive to keep 8 LBs when running a 4-3, which Armstrong seemed to struggle in previously. Watson and Coyle both are already good STs guy so we'll see. But I'm thinkin Breida or Bolden take that last spot.

I could see Armstrong being let go, likely traded, because he has $875K GTD in his base salary, and if cut after June 1, we only save $200K in cap room.
One guy I completely forgot about was Raheem Mostert. Didn't even notice he was still around lol. Picked him up the middle of last year.

A few interesting facts about him:

- Led 2015 pre-season in yards from scrimmage with Eagles. 351 total yards (157 rushing, 191 receiving).
- All-time leader in kick return yards at Purdue. 2,289 kickoff return yards
- Led the nation in kick return average in 2011
- Played receiver before converting to RB

If he shows some 3rd down receiving potential and kick return ability he could fight for the last RB spot.

Ray-Ray should not get cut. Guy can play WILL,MIKE and SS... very good depth and a push starter. We've had the worst luck with LBs last few years like WRs. I don't even know if Foster/Smith can even beat out Ray-Ray one of the nickel spots at this moment. He might be better than both of them in coverage.

Dude can also cross train as the SS (Tartt/Reid's) role should a rash of injuries occur (yeah, b/c THAT never happens to us).

We lead the pack in stashing players on I.R. Let's hope the next one we use actually ends up contributing to the team next year!

He could be a candidate if they choose to . I wouldn't be shocked.
