This year is about installing our new O and new D. We brought in players to make the O get going easily, and we've been bringing in players on D with experience in that system as well. We still have a TON of money, and we'll roll it over next year, so we have even more cap space to add to the team. This draft is going to be huge in establishing what we do in FA next year.

It's been proven time and time again, that spending huge in FA is not a good recipe for extended success, and most of the time not even good for short term success. The teams that stay good, are the ones that draft well, and have good front office/coaching. I like what we're doing, and our team is looking like it just might be trending in the upward projection, unlike the way it has the last 3 years.

I'm sure you believed in Baalke too. Nah no need to leave. Just wake me up when Lynch is ousted from his office. Thanks.

Nice assumption there sparky. I didn't believe in Baalke, I wanted him fired just like most of us did.

I just don't see the need to go out and buy the entire FA market. The majority of the time, that big spending does not amount to more wins on the field.

One offseason of spending on free agents isn't going to fix this roster, and if you think it will then you need to get a grip on reality.
C- A lot of guys not much talent. When your top sign is likely a fullback you didn't do much. Realistically though after the past few seasons we all should of expected a multi year turnaround. The key is going to be to land a Cousins and someone who can remove the stench from us.
B+

Upgraded the overall roster with depth on some of our weakest positions. Not the big names signing like some of the Madden GMs in here wanted, but good and smart overall pick ups to help install the system for a smoother transition.
I think it has been a fantastic off-season

-Hoyer has threw 25 TD's to 7 INT's the last 2 seasons and is about as good bridge as we can ask for

-The last time Shanahan had Garcon he led the NFL in receiving

-Juice is going to be a major weapon. I absolutely love this signing.

-Malcolm Smith knows the system and is a winner.

-We added speed to the receivers with Robinson and Goodwin

-We improved our special teams in Watson, Coyle and Jones

-We added a clutch kicker

-We added a respected veteran NT who will be a leader for our D

-We re-signed Kerley who was great last year.

-We traded for an All Pro center

-We got rid of dead weight in Torrey Smith, Kaepernick, Bethea and Martin.

And we still have the draft and player cuts coming up. But the best part is we still have 70+ mil to spend next year.

This roster is drastically improved.

But but but that's not enough for the Madden GMs in here. Should've signed Hightower, Poe, B.Williams, Bouye, Jeffrey, Pryor, Hankins, AP, J.Charles, Lebron James to be the TE and Michael Jordan to be the QB, also trade for Brady to be Jordan's backup and create Joe Montana to be Bradys backup backup.

We pretty much upgraded all of our weak positions, while getting rid of those bad players as well. We didn't bring in all-pro's, but we brought in some good players. With the way this roster is setting up, I would expect around a 6 win seasons. With a solid draft and another good FA, in 2 years from now hopefully we are 8-9-10 win team.

What a depressing outlook. 2-3 years just to get to 8-10 wins.

Wake me up when Lynch is being escorted off the premises.

Maybe we ought to be rating the POSTERS on here seeing how there are some Negative Nancys on this forum

2-14 and still 70 mil under the cap tells me no reason to get my hopes up on a good year.

All that money and Lynch thinks he's building something special here.

Never seen such a large collection of retreads being brought in on a bare empty team swimming with cash.

It's as if people really think rookies are going to come in day 1 and take over from the retreads that will be desperately guarding their jobs as they know they won't get many more chances in this league. Worse the rookies will be learning from failures.

So...ahhh...half glass full then?

We had a team of under achieving, malingering douches that couldn't even start on one of the worst talented teams in league. They didn't even have the motivation to keep themselves on the field, they were a bunch of training room commandos. We are acquiring players that WANT to play and WANT to start. We already saw the last 3 years just how well not spending any money and letting it sit there worked.

Keep cleaning house John.

He was a probowl alternate, once. He's never sniffed all pro, and Ravens fans were surprised they got anything for him to begin with. They make fun of the 49ers for having done so. They were quite happy to see him go.
