How would you rate the this crop of free agents?

Be honest! Ode
Trash....garbage....Walmart bargain bin.....Salvation Army sales section.....bought with EBT....etc.

All that money and Lynch thinks he's building something special here.

Never seen such a large collection of retreads being brought in on a bare empty team swimming with cash.

It's as if people really think rookies are going to come in day 1 and take over from the retreads that will be desperately guarding their jobs as they know they won't get many more chances in this league. Worse the rookies will be learning from failures.

We pretty much upgraded all of our weak positions, while getting rid of those bad players as well. We didn't bring in all-pro's, but we brought in some good players. With the way this roster is setting up, I would expect around a 5-6 win seasons. With a solid draft and another good FA, in 2 years from now hopefully we are 8-9-10 win team.

What a depressing outlook. 2-3 years just to get to 8-10 wins.

Wake me up when Lynch is being escorted off the premises.
C Pretty much a group of average players. Hopefully the draft class will compliment the FA's and we can have something to build on. And next year we can maybe get 2 big time free agents to really push the roster forward. Overall the only complaint I have is Malcolm Smith and his contract.
There will be more free agents available come August and September and there are always some big names cut.

Aug 29: Roster Cuts Teams must reduce their rosters to no more than 75 players on the Active List.

Sept 2: Roster Cuts. Teams must reduce rosters to a maximum of 53 players on the Active/Inactive List.
Loved it. We got a couple of starters/contributors. And, a lot of depth to get rid of useless Baalke maybe's. Just right for this stage of the rebuild.

I dont have any complaints. They brought in a bunch of guys who know the various schemes on offense and defense which will make it easier to install both.

They added depth, got rid of some guys that were underperforming or were not scheme fits and didnt bury a ton of money in any one free agent that could come back to haunt them.

They added the top fullback on the market and one of the best free agent wide receivers and got a quality veteran center allowing them to cut ties with Marcus Martin.

Most of these guys can be let go in a year or two with minimal dead money if they underperform or get passed up by better young players so long term financial flexibility has not been sacrificed. Ultimately I give them a B for being decisive and bringing in key guys who know the schemes will help the team overall get up and running a lot sooner.
I think Lynch has raised the overall talent level by a sizeable margin...especially on offense, he's brought in guys who've played for Shanahan. I think some Niner fans are selling this class short...especially since none of 'em have hit the field yet. There's depth now at most positions that simply wasn't there the last couple of seasons. A lot of the players brought in are likely on the verge of becoming consistent contributors...they've got a unique opportunity to show what they can do. Those with experience in Coach's system can also help in the transition of the rookies. I get the feeling some Niner fans think Lynch should've signed bigger name talents...the problem with that is there were so many holes to fill...if he did that, there'd still be a lot of 'em left. Both Lynch and Coach are on 6-year contracts...and that was on purpose, to rebuild this team into a consistent winner and playoff contender. Give them the chance to do just that...and show a little patience in their rebuilding process.

With as bad as this roster looked last season, it's called a realistic outlook. Sorry we didn't pull a madden and buy every single FA available.

You should be escorted out of this forum.

Amen, so many people are salty with the lack of big names. Newsflash, games are won and consistency established by building the middle of your roster, a good rotation of solid players. Exactly what we have brought in. It would be moronic to assume they all work out, but great work bringing in good football players.

I'm sure you believed in Baalke too. Nah no need to leave. Just wake me up when Lynch is ousted from his office. Thanks.

Just saying build depth and a solid core of players this year, bring in big names next year. Who cares if you have a Randy Moss type talent when it's the version of him that played for the Raiders.

Also, can't forget to mention that big name players may still be weary of SF after the last few season.
