He's going to be good, probably the best passer we had since Garcia. Just need to draft a young guy to groom.

The best scenario we have the second coming of Rich Gannon, the worst he's ok and a bridge for the next starter.

They had Gruden, Rice,Brown,Jerry Porter was a nice pick at that time(hope we take one in the second) and Charlie Garner. Crockett was a nice FB too.

Gannon was going crazy in that window. Gotta kill this draft.

That's what I think everytime I see this guy in a picture:

aka every zoner IRL.

Lol, well, I don't look like Matt Barrows.
Damn no one cares about this guy huh? His thread dropped to page 4.

anyway watching some gifs from his Cleveland days and damn does it look bad. https://twitter.com/rjmadrid/status/865007772609400833?ref_src=twsrc^tfw&ref_url=http%3A%2F%2F49erstweets.com%2F

Shanny got some players open, and Hoyer straight missed them.

Hopefully he improved since then, but now I really don't know what to expect this season.
They call him Hoyer the Destroyer for a reason. This dude is a baller and he's probably one of the best backups in the league. Not a bad stop gap option. Could be a lot worse folks. He got Cleveland off to a hot start the one year. If our defense can step up then I believe we can sneak in a couple extra wins.

Avg. QB play assuming we keep him upright. He's there to run the system.

I like how he can spread the ball around. Something we haven't seen in YEARS. Also Hoyer can air the ball out when needed. Josh Gordon had his best year with Hoyer behind center.

Our current starting qb has 18 pages. Our rookie slot receiver has 14! Amazing.

Yeah, first year running Kyle's offense...in Cleveland. Let's keep perspective. But yeah, no love for the man. This could end up being his best season of his career. You can come back to page 18 if I was right. If not, please disregard. LOL

Watching Hoyer, it's clear he is a stop gap / back up option. Will make some nice plays but not consistently enough. I think he will have a solid year statistically. If he plays all 16 games he will go for 4000+ yards

I love how he has no fear taking shots down field. Something every QB we've had couldn't do since Garcia.

Garcia had that issue to.

Then came

Took his job...

and threw bombs to T.O. Fred Beasly Brandon Llyod (on an audible at the LOS, something Jeff wouldn't do, against the Rams) etc.
I don't think we could've picked up a better bridge QB. He knows Kyle's system and has been productive over the last 16 games. His arrow has been up. Kinda like Alex Smith with a little better deep ball. Mostly average, a few great games and a couple stinkers from time to time. Can he improve and claim the starting job long term? Anything is possible.

I'll be rooting for him to do so but I'm not expecting it to happen. I'll be happy if he's average and does a good job of getting the new offense installed.

Rosen or Cousins 2018. If we end up going with a first rd rookie I'd want him to sit behind Hoyer for a year. Anyhow, I feel good about our options. Go Niners!
The idea of redemption for past football sins sits well with me in the retooling and rechooling of Brian Hoyer.

Today is the first day of the rest of his life.

He will work with the urgency and operative efficiency necessary to create his own niche in San Franciscan history.

A journeyman who knows his own game so well, he pushes his own limitations on every play.

We should stand up and get behind him for the whole season as we grow and hopefully flourish.
