My summary of the radio broadcast as it relates to Kyle and Jed:
Asked about Kyle Shanahan and Jed and whether it's the right choice.
Answered: Looks like Jed got it. He's known Kyle for 17 years, and remembers him as a ball boy at the 49ers training camp. He thinks Kyle is very much like his father Mike Shanahan. Eddie's followed Kyle's career as he went from graduate assistant to Atlanta as OC. Eddie's known John Lynch for a long time too, and apparently they meet occasionally in Tampa Bay (when John played in Tampa Bay) - where I think Eddie stays or lives there for a part of the year. He hopes Lynch becomes like a John McVay, and Eddie respects John Lynch's football knowledge. He's talked about John Lynch to his sister Denise and to Jed.
Asked about the draft and the Cap:
Answered: Knew that they were in good shape on both those things. Lots of draft capital and way under the salary cap. Said that both Jed and his sister Denise (interesting that he doesn't mention John York, and I think because John doesn't own it? I think the settlement gave the ownership to his sister Denise, not John? Maybe some of the football nerds here can help me on this?) have suffered terribly because both Denise and Jed don't like to lose, and even he has suffered because he can't even spell the word. He thinks mistakes have been made and he thinks that both Jed and Denise have learned from their mistakes. And he thinks the organization is in a good direction to get to the playoffs and eventually the super bowl.
Asked about Jim Harbaugh:
Answered: He liked Jim Harbaugh. He thinks he's a tremendous coach (and I think - reading between the lines - he's one of the main nudgers of Jed to make up with Harbaugh, just in case Kyle does not work out, he can call up Harbaugh to be coach again? But this time maybe give Harbaugh *total* control the way Kyle has total control now). But he acknowledges that Jed and Harbaugh really didn't get along, and Jed had a hard time relating to Harbaugh. He acknowledges that Harbaugh's personality is very similar to his personality - and that if Eddie and Jim were running the 49ers, he's pretty sure He and Jim would have some arguments too.
