If his teammates thought he deserved it, he deserved it. It's the 'locker room' award. Funny enough, I don't remember any previous recepient being questioned and subject to such scrutiny.

I don't remember any previous recepient ever kneeling during our country's national anthem and flag guard an entire season or even one game for that matter.
