Say what you will about Chip. But he is a stand up guy. We should at least give him credit where it's due.

I lol'ed that he didn't mention the 3 trolls (Kawakami, Cohn, Killion).

Totally. If he was hired with a new GM last year I doubt he'd be let go even if this season played out the exact same way.

Chip's demise is that horrid defense. A different QB and WRs and his offense will be in business.

I feel bad for Chip... I don't think he deserves the boot yet. They better hit it out of the park with his replacement because I don't really think he was the biggest problem.

* In keeping with a season in which 19 49ers have gone on injured reserve, tight end Je'Ron Hamm went down with a broken leg during pre-game warm-ups and had to be carted off the field. The 49ers were left with two tight ends, Garrett Celek and newcomer Jim Dray.

I don't think they took the game seriously
Actually they did, until about 7 min left when they knew Saints had no way of beating Falcons. But even their offensive backups were able to keep the ball and run the clock out ahead by only 2. It's beyond me how the Niners couldn't get one f**king stop with 5 min. and give Kap at least one chance to drive into FG range. Damn that was incompetent defense.

Ironically 1-4 is still better than 1-10

We got nothing to lose... I wouldn't mind if our guys decide to be as dirty as them. Penalties won't matter, we're not going anywhere... might as well go after them ankles
