This season sucks and I want to change gears and talk about something fun.

I wonder if Steve Young could throw for 6K in todays NFL.

Maybe this doesn't belong here so if it doesn't i apologize

Cheers
Well if you take his yards per attempt in 1994 and give him 650 throws that's north of 5500 yards and assuming he threw TD at the same rate it woulda been close to 50 TDs. Given the way the game is played today, I do think he'd have a real shot at completing 75% of his passes if he was locked in like he was in 1994 (same goes for Joe if he was 1989 locked in).
Only 375 yards per game to hit 6000.

That's an utterly dominant, highly unrealistic season.

And don't forget, Young & Montana would be playing in a parity league.

Marino's 5,089 yard season broken by Drew Brees by just a little bit was/is an awful lot of passing yardage. I think 5,500 would be the upper limit of what an NFL QB could throw and honestly if anyone could throw 6,000+, I wouldn't like the NFL at that point because of what rule changes would be needed to get there.

ps - Neither Young nor Joe were passing yardage leaders in their respective days.........QB ratings yes, but yards, rarely.
Huh? How many wives does he have? How many attempts?
