FA's to go after

So what FA's should we realistically target this off season? I like K. Alonso to pair with Bowman, and perhaps either M .Floyd or A. Jeffery to add to the WR corp. What do you guys think we should target, or look to add?

kiko. Alshon, Perfect.
IF,,,IF ...we can get them here, heck yeah. Since we stunk up the league last yr, and have not impressed this yr, it will take a lot of doing. Just offereing top dollar isn't going to get an Alshon or Kiko to even give us a sniff. Find out therir market early on....and DOUBLE it. That WiLL get them here. As for offering top dollar...don't waste our time. REsult will be same as last yr's . And this ultimately, is Jed's and family's penalty. Having to pay bona fide all pros DOUBLE to play here. But do that, and there is no way we get turned down. Suddenly a guy's "family" is the most important thing, and DOUBLE money will be VERY hard to pass up...we could actually get some help from the little lady at home if she finds out so and so can get DOUBLE money here ...but make no mistake...that's what it will take if we want FAs. We learned that last yr.

As for screwing up our cap...let paraag finally earn his money. Just keeping salaries in line hasn't brot any lookers. Double money...anyone really think that will get turned down?

This is absurd - Jeffery's market is probably $10+ million/year. I really hope you don't think it's a good idea to pay him over $20 million a year to get him to come to San Francisco. There are plenty of guys willing to give up on winning for 10-20% more money.

If we can't get anyone good to come here on a reasonable deal, that's fine - the next salary floor doesn't come into play until 2020 (there are two 4 year windows where you have to spend 89% of your cap - the first ended in 2016 and the 2nd ends in 2020). We don't have to spend anything and getting high draft picks in consecutive years locked in to cheap rookie contracts will make the team more attractive to free agents even if we go 2-14 next year.

Adding talent through the draft and having the most cap space to spend from 2018-2020 by far (if we don't spend anything in free agency this year) would make us more attractive to coaches and players. Sinking our cap space overpaying injury prone WRs will not.
dontarie poe...im sick of the musical chairs we play because of our injuries at NT...plug him in and watch AA and defo explode on to the scene...thats all we need is a decent enough NT and our front is good for years and years...Plus hes arguably the best fa available (if KC lets him go)
I really like Poe, and would love to see him be the BIG SPLASH we make in FA, if he becomes available. Adding Poe might make it easier to land Alonso, and Alshon's value took a little hit with this suspension he's on. If we landed those three in FA, and draft Garrett, our D would be on its way to being really good, and adding Alshon would give our O another weapon, which might help T. Smith actually become a more valuable player here.
You guys need to think bigger! Leveon bell
Is Bell a FA?
Break Jed's piggy bank for Poe!

Fantastic post. This would play right into the timeliness for completing a rebuild, if everything goes smoothly and we continue to add cornerstone players with top 10 picks (a must).

Great call. Get back to strong up the middle...Baalke's own saying. I could easily see that as a target and us NOT banking on Dorsey and Williams making it through 16 games. Live and learn.

Make sure Baalke gets fired first. If for some reason he is still around, he ain't going to sign sh*t, just like last offseason.
I agree that building through the draft is the way to go, but we need to add a couple young FA's at positions of need if we can. Alonso won't break the bank, but might be a very good player to pair with Bowman to help turn this D around. Poe is a no brainer if he's available.
I understand the desire for alonso, but he fits well in the 43 defense in Miami and hes Columbian... hes a superstar there. They arn't broke, doubt he bounces even for chip
