Instead of running the Mesh concept over the middle, the 49ers run two pivot (jerk) routes to fake the Mesh concept.

Same 11 personnel group and formation. Only difference is the #2 WR (red) is now Patton instead of Kerley. Looks like the same coverage from the Saints. Some sort of Cover1, but the 'deep' safety is not playing with much depth.


Play starts out looking the same, but the two drags will now pivot instead.


The blue LB on Vance takes a horribly aggressive angle to try and play the pass.



I remember when I first started looking at Kelly's offense this and the mesh was the concepts shown.
