Is it lack of talent, poor coaching, or a combination of both?

I had a feeling they where in trouble when they didn't draft a LB because they liked the LB they have. Now we can see how well that is working out. sure if no one was injured they would be fine. How many seasons will that happen. it's 70% players 30 % coaches. It's time for Trent Baalke to be replaced by someone out side of the team. Let that new GM run the football operations, picking head coach and players. IT can be Scott Pioli or a new up cumming young mind I don't care as long as they stop drafting injured player that never make the team or are on the team and doing nothing to talk about.

I also think it is a combination of the two, but the bigger issue is the lack of talent on the roster thanks to Baakle. .Until he is fired it does not matter how much money they have to spend in FA or where they pick in the draft or how many picks they have. Just look at this roster, how many players would you say are above average (I'd say less than 10).

The middle of the defense is missing it's NT and ILBs. Watching the runs up the middle today it seems the LBs are filling really quickly...through the wrong holes. The majority of the runs have been left center...between Buckner and Dorsey/Purcell. So it isn't realistic to expect Bellore to fill against the run as well as Bowman or Willis. He's a ST player for a reason. Hodges hasn't improved as much as I had hoped either. It's shocking to see an NFL team give up long runs consistently up the middle.

f Cleveland played the Niners on a neutral field the Browns would win easily in my opinion. I have been watching Niners football for over 40 years and this is by far the worst 49ers team I have ever watched. Yes, even worse than the OJ teams in the late 70s. There are only a couple of players that would start on a good NFL team... Staley, Hyde,.... is that it?
The #1 problem is a lack of leadership and ability to recognize talent. That falls on Trent Baalke and of course Jed York. It has lead to the worst roster in the NFL

The defensive scheme sucks. I keep seeing our ends rushing up field while running back run right behind them. I wish wed go to the 4-3 for the remainder of the season to cover up this shifty linebacker core we have. Everyone is running wild on us. Pro fantasy tip: start any running back if he's playing against the 49ers regardless of if it's Ezekiel elliot or pee wee Herman.

The Webzone fans overrate so many of the players. There isn't that much talent on this roster.

The offensive scheme is great but we don't have enough good skill players. The defensive scheme is horrible but we have decent talent that's put out of position. The biggest disappointment this year is the defense. If we have a middle of the pact defense, we would have won 3 or 4 more games.

The problem is always the number of elite players or leaders a team has or doesn't have. The loss of Willis, A SMith, J Smith, Bowman...you just don't plug in a Williams and have him be just fine when the guys behind him are Bellore and Hodges. With Willis and Bowman you just need a good NT, not an excellent one. Wtihout them you need a true plugger...someone who can take on double teams and win.
So you take three or four elite guys off any team and the other guys begin to look...human. And the less than good guys look bad.

All of the above. Which makes it so much more depressing.
