0-16 ring a bell? Tried to build his teams off of WRs.
Steve Young would be my top choice. Saw a lot of the game from the sideline. Successful businessman after a concussion ladened career. He understands the game both on and off the field at a high level.

I think Steve would rather buy the team or any team instead of having to be a yes-man to someone like our jed.

All fanatasies............whats makes sense won't happen though. If Jed won't sell the team....he needs to hire someone with football passion, someone that will do what it takes to win. Jed needs to hire this guy to run the 49ers and he stays out of the way.

Jed won't hire Steve. But the point of hiring someone like Steve is partly that Steve couldn't, and wouldn't be a "Yes man" to Jed. Steve would do his own thing and knows football from an NFL player's standpoint. John Elway pt. 2

Since Joe has been retired I can't recall the team reaching out to him to mentor the QB's in the off season. Who has better insight into the brilliance of Coach Walsh than #16. Going with the topic I'd say Brent Jones.
