The Arizona Cardinals gambled on veteran players to keep their window open -- now it's back firing. That injection of veteran "leadership" did not allow their young guys to develop. Now they're stuck with the big contracts of Patrick Peterson, Carson Palmer, Larry Fitzgerald, (soon to be) Chandler Jones, Mike Iupati, Tyrann Mathieu and several others. Those eat up a huge chuck of their cap.
Keim has repeatedly whiffed in the 1st round. This year being another example.
They have many of their top players going into UFA this season, you can't sign them all.
Their window lasted 2 years.

Drew Stanton will throw about 11-12 times N they will just feed David Johnson all day long.
Johnson 235 yards rushing 3 Tds
Cards win 27-9

I don't think the niners win this even with Carson out. How many yards did the D give up on the ground to Elliot/Morris? They'll probably give up the same to AZ.
Hate to do this....but I'm starting Fitz in fantasy this week.

Naw...they gotta give Fitz a TD to. I think Johnson gets 2 TD's.

Their still a better team than us right now...talent-wise on both sides of the ball.

I'd rather have the Seahawks season spoiled but we didn't do much to help. I hate the cards less because I don't see them being relevant beyond 1-2 more years when Carson and Fitz retire. The hawks are unfortunately built for more success down the road.
The Cardinals are done now. Palmer has shown is true colors (check out his last eight games). They have no QB options and will need to draft a 1st round QB -- likely around pick #15. And given Keim's track record of 1st round busts -- I'd say the Cardinals won't be making any playoff noise for the next few years.

This year, I agree. But they're not a team built for the long term. All of their WRs will either hit UFA or retire in the next 2 years. They have no long term QB. Their o-line is not even close to ours.
The only long term position on offense they have better than us is RB.
Their defense has just as many pass rushers as we do (Chandler Jones). And even he is over hyped. I'm listening to fans in AZ rip him as I type this.

I didn't say we were better. I'm sure we'll find a way to lose this game. That's what young teams do. All I was saying is the Cardinals window is closed.
At this point -- we should welcome Niners losses. We were never going to the playoffs this year. So, let the young guys play -- get experience -- and prosper in the offseason.
We're going to be okay.
