Of course they are just opinions, but here are the Power Rankings for the 49ers from all the major sports sites:
Washington Post: 24
SBNation: 29
Yahoo!: 29
Bleacher Report: 21
CBS Sports: 19
USA Today: 25
NFL.com: 23
ESPN: 31
FiveThirtyEight.com: 21
Reddit: 27
Combined score: 24.9

ESPN's 31 seems a little too low, IMO. Contrarily CBS's 19 seems a little too high.

All a reflection of how the team was viewed coming into the season. Most media outlets think Blaine Gabbert sucks, which leads to a negative view of the roster. Pete Prisco projected the Niners to go 2-14 on that principle alone.

Which was nuts considering we went 5-11 last year with a far more dysfunction roster and coaching situation.
This team is clearly much improved, just not going to be in contention for anything this year. They should get to 6 or 7 wins.

Prolly ESPN guys are mostly just lazy and waiting for others to do the real homework
CBS was prolly the only ones who really watched the game and giving us credit for keeping it close at the half and in the 4th (before the implosion).

ESPN really, really, REALLY hates us. You can just kind of tell over the past few years. NFL.com and NFL Network have more respect for us, and I would say their ranking is about right. Maybe a spot or two generous.
CBS is a bit high.

Big time. I could never follow the idea we'd win less than last year. A real head coach with a winning record and otherwise improved coaching staff along with an improved roster. Still very much a work in progress but not the train wreck of 2015.

Id say 21 to 26 is fair.
As of right now, there are teams that are clearly worse then us
Every 0-2 team has been a hot mess
Miami and Indianapolis have at least been competitive in each game, but both have big holes. New Orleans defense is horrible!!!

ESPN analysts = Paul 'Raide Lover' Gutierrez + buncha seattle slobbers, led by Mike Sando and their nefarious emperor Kenny Mayne

ESPN is making a point of not being credible. Once again bad teams that lost like the Bears move up in rankings somehowto justify the niners rankings. Even Bears fans in the comments are like WTF we suck.

I think I agree with NFL.com for now. CBS cautiously running alongside the bandwagon?
