Now you've got me interested. I think I want to go back for a closer look.

That's always my default opinion on these kinds of things - these guys do this for a living - nobody wants to be sitting there with a prospective coach or GM looking at film and having them say 'why didn't you give full effort on that play?'

that's what I'm looking for... nothing better then a good conspiracy theory... And to give you guys heads up teams and players have thier own ways to get thier point across expecially if it needs to be done the old way preseason hazing.

I'm referring to this play. Think it was only this one time though.
Like I said, maybe he could have worked the pocket better. Understandable he'd be antsy standing in his own endzone, but still.

That play is a perfect illustration of how Kap was struggling with decision making. It's a Hank (All Curls/Curl-flat) concept so it must be thrown on time or else all the routes just sit there and get less and less open. The read is inside out, but Kap looks wide left first. The key defender is the MLB then start progressing through reads from the middle of the field towards one of the sidelines. Torrey just chillin.
Progression shown below: middle of the field, then towards the sidelines.

Interesting, thanks.
Guess working the pocket is just an afterthought on the core issue. Since again it seems like Kaepernick had the chance to make the pressure he felt a non-issue if he had made the correct read.

If that.
