From what I know its a 90 man roster for TC so by my calculations, you already have 26 cuts on your list and only need to cut 11 more not 21. Just trying to make things easier for you. I dont want you to stress out on making that hard decision of cutting 21 more players and we end up with just 43 players on the roster.
Yeah ,that would be terrific ...we end up with only 43 players. We got enough problems without spotting the league 10 players.
Answer to question: I took my list from the 99 players on tonite's roster, listed on the thread for tonite's game.

Good point Bob, you are making it easier. That should have been noted. Also on previous page, there was a post that had Ponder on it which was not on mine, but should have been. I think he is a late cut, but he gets some camp time, and approx 3 games . Then if a late cut, and we had a slew of injuries, he would at least be somewhat familiar with Chip ball. And I think that was chip's'/Trent plan all along...unless one of our top 3 cannot play. There was no intention of keeping 4 QBs. So that was a good call.

I'm hoping Lemon gets cut, too.
Actually, Kirk, I am not hoping for anybody to get cut (with a very few exceptions), but was just trying to make fans think, "ok, who would YOU cut?". But I agree...lemon goes.

Umm those are Jersey numbers not number of players. It is a 90 man roster.

Totally agree, this is what happens when people who play too much Madden post on the zone. From what I see Simpson and Ellington are locks, with Patton likely gone.

I hope G Smith makes it over Purcell. Purcell is a preseason demon and must practice well. He disappears during the regular season. There is a huge drop off when Ian isn't playing and we get stuck with purcell.
I am ready to see if smith can do in the regular season what he does in the preseason.

Oops...Well, that makes it a lot easier. 2 on IR means only 35 cuts.

I want them both which probably isn't going to happen, so heck...Smith was awesome week 1.

a big part of me is thinking that the team may sign a wide out like riley cooper once they cut rogers and see how healthy the rest of the guys are

Another difficult prediction is who of these cuts is eligible and likely to survive waivers to be placed on the practice squad.

Purcell is going against 1's and 2's while Smith is going against 3's and 4's. Big big difference in talent and experience. Last preseason Purcell excelled when he went against 3's and 4's, same way Smith was successful in last weeks preseason. Can't really judge any player by watching only one preseason game. Things will unfold by itself after 4 preseason games, hopefully sooner.

I highly doubt Blake Bell, Redmond, Smelter, or Bellore are cut, Rogers will go to I.R. and most of those rookies won't be cut, they'll go to the PS assuming no one claims them. It sure won't look good if we try to sneak a bunch of this years draft picks through to the PS, only to have another team claim them for nothing. I thought Baalke drafted WAY too many players this year, and would have prefered he traded away some of those later picks for picks in next years draft.

Stopped reading after seeing Patton, Ellington, and Simpson on the cut list.
All 3 of these guys will probably make the 53. Not because their play warrants a spot on a 53 man roster.... but because we have nobody else worth keeping instead of them. This is the weakest group of WRs I have ever seen on this team (that is really saying something). Honestly, Brandon Lloyd and Arnez Battle were more deserving of starting role back in their time than Smith and Patton. But it is what it is.

I sure wish we would have talked to the Titans about Dorial Green Beckham before the Eagles. We could have traded away one of our extra O lineman for him like the Eagles did, ad actually had a big WR for the goal line. Also someone we could give time to develop as well.
