Beadles was a bust in Jacksonville
Kilgore average stater should be better than Martin
Garnett good college player but it might take time to get up to nfl power and speed.
AD just don't know his commitment level
Conclusion. It sounds better but we just don't know yet.
beadles was a good player, he can not be worse than boones garbage play plus he is a better locker room guy.. in find it interesting you bring up the age thing but you were more than ok with the niners over paying and over committing to a older frank gore. staley is solid and there are countless examples of offensive lineman playing quality well onto the other side of 35. when he plays kilgore is above average... also our line coach is superior to what we have had in the past
By the way beadles only struggled when he left the zone blocking scheme in denver to go to a power blocking scheme. On paper our oline is light years better than last year's disaster
Beadles was in an outside zone scheme in DEN. I don't know what he did in JAC. Here, Chip runs predominantly inside zone which requires a bit more strength than a pure outside zone scheme. If Beadles is a quick guy that can't drive block, that won't translate well to what Chip likes to do. Beadles would have been a very good fit last season when the 49ers ran a lot of outside zone.
I have my doubts about Beadles only struggling because of blocking scheme changes. I watched an ample amount film on him from his jacksonville days. He struggled a lot on pass protection allowing 41 pressures that ranked him 5th most for guards. However I am optimist and hope our coaches can him right but its not likely.
Perhaps Tiller can take Beadles spot on the line. Looked promising last year compared to J****n D*v*y.(the one of whom we do not speak)

This!
We had one of the worst O-lines last year, and one of the worst D-lines last year. We made strong moves to fix those areas, and will be vastly improved!
So what if we didn't draft a QB, or big name WR, we dressed the O-line, the most important part of the team.
Not a sexy off season, but the lines are like the foundations of a building, it doesn't matter how nice the kitchen is, or how big the media room is, if the damned house is falling down!

Agree
"...superior to last year..."
Any improvement would be superior to last year's debacle.
I'm of the opinion that Tiller is starting by 3rd or 4th game.

Always starts with the lines for sure.
I'm not sure about it becoming a strength yet, but that sure would be good news and make the years outcome a little different.
Can't wait to see.
Lamb chops on opening night though!

With such an expected fast pace up tempo offense, it would make sense to rotate O linemen as well

Tiller certainly has more power for the IZ runs and last year at LG next to Staley, showed an ability to get to the second level and pull out in space. Tiller certainly has a license to win a starting job. He (RG) and Trenton Brown (RT) started next to each other with the 1's so we'll just have to watch and see what happens. Staley describes Beadles as one of the smartest players he's ever been around but doesn't describe him in terms of talent or skill set (i.e. powerful G, excellent athlete, quick feet, outstanding balance and angles, etc.).
