No annoying Australian reporters asking dumb questions about Hayne.
Hyde
Chips faster attack.
Bowman is da man.
Smith
The new kids on the block.
When we win more games than the Raiders and Seachooks combined.
I do miss the blank stares from the HC and the comedy routine at the pressers.( you know - farting, "he has a foot", italian dinners etc)

The defensive line should almost certainly be better. Ward and Tartt are coming on and Bethea is back. With another year of experience for guys like Cromartie and Davis and some new guys to push them there could be a real improvement in the secondary. Bowman says he is completely recovered from his knee injury
This is really the first upcoming season ever that I could think of that I'm not excited about.. We went from Superbowl contenders to bottom dwellers in the blink of an eye.. Now we have a head coach who might bring some life to the offense but I'm afraid he'll be gone before he truly gets a chance to make an impact..
We have a defense that's a shell of its former self.. a solid running back and 90 year old kicker.. somebody please give me something to be optimistic about.
They have made an effort to improve their receiving core. Torrey Smith apparently had a good mini camp and if they can find someone to step up on the other side maybe we'll get some production out of that group for a change. MacDonald really improved over the last part of the season here's a chance to see if he has finally turned the corner. Celek is healthy again Bell is no loner a rookie and Anderson is waiting in the wings.
Gabbert and Kaepernick will be pushing each other to see who will be the best fit to run the offense. Both guys have their pluses and minuses but Kelly has promised to "coach the heck out of them" so hopefully one will emerge as a better player who is able to take control of the offense and execute the way it is designed, not run it like a sandlot game.
You sound like one of those fans that can only be amused if the team wins which is your loss. The enjoyment comes from seeing them compete and come together as a team. This will almost certainly be a transition year where we will get a chance to see which guys will become the core of the new team. How can you not get a kick out of that?

I am looking forward to seeing the two reconstructed lines. I think the D will be very interesting although it may take a year to bring it all together. And seeing Smelter, at last. Plenty to be excited about.

So me wanting to see the team win is a bad thing ..... Watching this team lose is horrible.

Buckner & Armstead becoming the the 2 most difficult 3-4 Defensive Lineman to block
Aaron Lynch getting 12+ QB sacks
Hyde rushing for 1300 + yards
Ronald Blair, Will Remond and Rashard Robinson hitting the ground running , and contributing towards improving the defense
Joshua Garnett cementing his spot as a starting offensive lineman for years to come
Celek, Bell , McDonald and Miller forming an effective and consistent platoon of Tight Ends
Torrey Smith scoring 10 TD's or more, and establishing himself as the League's most dangerous deep threat

Any level headed fan knew last season was a wash as soon as Tomsula was hired. I think there's much much more reason to be excited with the staff and youth on this team. I also don't see Chip going anywhere unless they go like 2-14 the next two years.

First Season in a While Where we Actually Start off Fresh.
Now of course I don't like the fact that we had an ok season last year, we have a new head coach, and there are soooooooo many unknown parts that it's actually exciting.
We don't have to worry any more about bias in competition with QB's. Now what I mean is, true, we don't know who will exactly be under center to start the season, but I don't get that past comparison vibe that I used to with other QB's of our past. You know Smith vs. Kaep, or Garcia vs whomever, or Young vs. Montana. Every year people pick out their favorite QB and defend them until the cows come home. But now I get the vibe that both QB's don't wow us, so you have more of a somber and relaxed lets just see what happens type of feel.
With our receiving corp, defensive backs, o and d line. There are just soo many uncertainties that I'm excited, because this is the first off season where bias is not plaguing our forums. Where there isn't 15,000 threads made about the same person or position.
Honestly, I haven't been this excited in a long time. So here's to the 49ers showing me what they have this season, and I have nothing to complain about because from top to bottom most things are new...... Go 9ers!

Well, at least 49ers gear is super cheap now, just bought a $40 fitted hat for only $8 at Ross. Thanks Jed!

I am looking forward at watching the Seahawks' decent. They lost a lot of talent this offseason, should be fun to watch the implosion.

Chip Kelly is not Jim Tomsula, that's enough to get excited about
