Who predicted in the summer of '81 that the Niners would be anything but better 'Aints and worse than the Rams and Falcons? Same old same old.
Only point is, teams grow sometimes with little real warning.
The exciting part is to sit back on Sundays, hope for good ball, and be surprised when something bizarre, like completely exceeding all expectations, happens.

1000/1 preseason odds to win the Super Bowl, worst in history.

I am excited to see if we have any Delanie Walker, Dashon Goldson, Tarell Brown, Ray McDonald, and even Navarro Bowman type of late bloomers on the team, and if so, how many, and how big of a leap, if any, they will take forward this year.

A HC that comes in with a winning record. HCs always learn from their first gig in the NFL. Potential talent on defense, mainly AA/DeFo.

Plenty to be excited about!!
I'm excited to see how our defense progresses. A lot of young, talented players who may still be a year or two away but the potential is there for this to be top 5-10 unit again. Excited to see if Kap is the super star most of us thought he was, playing under Kelly or if Gab can have an 2011 Alex Smith resurrection type season. Excited to have a coach who will actually utilize our WRs so we can truly see what kind of talent we have there. Really intrigued by Rogers there with his size and speed. Could be a RZ threat. Id also love to see if Hyde can live up to the hype and stay healthy. Still hurts to not see #21 line up in the backfield so he needs to breakout this year. 1,300+ yards and 7+ TDs rushing. 40+ receptions 350+ yards and 3-4 TDs isn't that far fetched IMO. Idk, I'm more optimistic than most, but I could see us finish anywhere from 3-13 to 10-6 depending on if our young guys really step up or not. If we do finish 3-13, 4-12, 5-11, I just want to see us be competitive in most games. Either way it goes I can't wait for the season to start.
Bash my optimism if you want, you won't get a response from me. A lot of you wanna pretend to be GMs and forgot what being a fan of a team is anyway so troll somebody else. Primary example: Half of you guys would rather watch Kap fail than see us win IF he wins the QB job.
To my fellow optimistic homers GO NINERS!!

We have a defense that's a shell of its former self.. a solid running back and 90 year old kicker.. somebody please give me something to be optimistic about.
Having a great season. And if that doesn't happen, watching the people that can't bear to have a few down years jump ship to Oakland or Seattle or some other d-bag team.

Actually think theres a lot to be excited about. Lots of young talent and a coach that truly knows offense for the first time in 10+ years. Recrod wise we might not be great, butber're under the radar so maybe we'll getba cpuple wins we wouldnt count on
