What do you think about the loser of the Kap/Gabbert matchup getting traded if the staff likes what they see in Driskell?

Can't let either go... we'll need a legit back up with experience. Driskell will flash in camp / preseason, but in a real game, especially in our division (defense), he'll wet his panties

The bottom line is Kaepernick has been paid. That said, fans need to keep an open mind because this is a rebuild and if another teams QB goes down or can't be signed, the door is open for a trade too...anytime. But we'll cross that bridge when we get there. While Gabbert clearly starts out ahead, we'll see how it finishes...even in season, if both are still here.

Driskel will be never be the one

If Kap can beat Blaine in a rap battle, we go with Kap
Great info. Can't wait to see these battles get under way

D.O.A. (Dudes With Attitudes) - Tartt, McCray and the Rookies (Laptop & Rainman)

vs.

CB2 (Cover Bros II) - Reid, Ward, Acker, Reaser

Maybe I"m crazy but what does the O stand for being the second word is With?

And shouldn't it be CB4 sense you have 4 ppl listed

Dudes On Adderall.

Driskell vs. Ellington for the return man job is certainly one to watch.

Considering they're working Driskell at kick returns I highly doubt they make him the #2 lol.

I think they have $14 million between both qbs which isn't bad at all for your #1 and #2 QB.

Good point. Will add.

Driskell is not being tested as a returner, but in the personal protector position. The idea is that the return team will always need to be concerned that the center will hike the ball to Driskell, who could either run or pass for a first down (or better). If the return squad is out of position, Pinion or Driskell can audible and take advantage.

Let the battles begin...

Offensive Personnel: (2015 Snap Count)
QB: Blaine Gabbert (509); Colin Kaepernick (502), Jeff Driskel (0), Thad Lewis (0) & Dylan Thompson (0)
Battle Royale: What's crazy about this battle is that Kaepernick could end up #1 as easily as he could #3 on this depth chart now (depending on his health). Driskel has some really nice upside and Lewis knows this offense like the back of his hand. How quickly can Kaepernick heal and absorb the new offense? In the end, he should earn the #1 or #2 spot.

RB1: Carlos Hyde (292); Mike Davis (126) & Kendall Gaskins (91)
RB2: Shaun Draughn (253); DuJuan Harris (61) & Kelvin Taylor (0)
Battle Royale: Sounds like Hyde is 100% and feeling great. Davis started to come on a bit late last year but behind a better OL then too. I'm actually a bit excited to see how he runs now on inside/outside zones. But the RB2 spot is where the true battles will be. I have a feeling it's going to come down to Harris and Taylor here and both should be excellent compliments to Hyde especially in the passing game.

MTE: Bruce Miller (143); Busta Anderson (0)
TE: Vance McDonald (468) & Garrett Celek (399); Blake Bell (352) & Jamie Childers (0)
Battle Royale: Bruce Miller is a "move TE" now but I think in the end, that role will go to Vance McDonald and we retain Celek and Bell. In short, I think Bruce, Busta and Devon are gone. But either way, this is one intriguing battle b/c of how Kelly is going to adapt to having so many TE's and the competition itself. Will he keep four and if so, will it be Miller? Trade?

X WR: Torrey Smith (772); Jerome Simpson (85) & Bryce Treggs (0)
Y WR (SLOT): Bruce Ellington (143); Aaron Burbridge (0), DeAndrew White (30) & DiAndre Campbell (0)
Z WR: Eric Rogers (0); Quinton Patton (424), DeAndre Smelter (0), Dres Anderson (0) & Devon Cajuste (0)
Battle Royale: Well, what can you say about this group? All have unique skill sets that match the specific WR positions...speed, deep threat at the X, shifty, quick WR's that can make contested catches in the middle of the field in the slot (Y) and big-bodied Z WR's perfect for screens, slants, etc. But what do we really have? Of all the battles, especially under Kelly's offense, this could be the most fun and important to watch.

LOT: Joe Staley (1,011); Fahn Cooper (0)
LG: Zane Beadles (1,058); Andrew Tiller (614), Blake Muir & Jordan Devey (388)
C: Daniel Kilgore (267); Ian Silberman (0) & Alex Balducci (0)
RG: Joshua Garnett (0); Brandon Thomas (0) & Marcus Martin (819)
ROT: Anthony Davis (0); Erik Pears (1,011), Trenton Brown (186); John Theus (0) & Colin Kelly (0)
Battle Royale: How good does it feel knowing that Devey is already gone and now with Anthony Davis being back, there is a good chance Pears will be gone as well? The fact that those two took up 1,400 snaps last year is sickening. I think to start, there is going to be an EPIC battle at the G spots...with Beadles, Tiller, Thomas and Garnett. It's expected that Beadles and Garnett will win both G spots but the way Tiller played last year and the ceiling of Thomas, who truly knows? Who here wants to see Trenton Brown vs. Arik Armstead and DeForrest Buckner go at it in practice? I really like Cooper as well and Theus has a shot to be a solid swing-T himself. Outside of taking longer to pick up the pace, I get the feeling the team likes Brown's upside so him and Davis going at it could be epic especially given how far ahead Brown is on the system right now. He has a chance to be an absolute steal or at least, an excellent starter-worthy backup. Kilgore has always struggled with strength at the POA but he's a cerebral player ideal for Kelly's system IF he can build his strength up. I'm curious to see if anyone (Silberman or Balducci) can actually challenge him this year and at least, add some quality depth. Who's going to add quality depth at LT?

Defensive Personnel:
RDE: DeForest Bucker (0); Ronald Blair (0) & Tony Jerod Eddie (290)
NT: Quinton Dial (640); Mike Purcell (288), Darren Lake (0) & Garrison Smith (0) (Ian Williams - 659)
LDE: Arik Armstead (375); Kaleb Ramsey (0) & Demetrius Cherry (0) (Glenn Dorsey - 45)
Battle Royale: This DL has the chance to become one of the most disruptive DL's in the game with just 3 players. Obviously, Dial is going to have to get back to form manning the NT spot thanks to Ian's "undisclosed injury" but Purcell seems to be getting better and better as well. We'll need a heavy rotation so the real battle will be for the 4th, 5th and 6th spots as O'Neil likes to switch between 3 and 4-man DL's and with Kelly's uptempo, these big boys need to stay rotated and fresh.

WILL: Eli Harold (337); Tank Carradine (223), Marcus Rush (0) & Kevin Anderson (0)
SAM: Ahmad Brooks (741); Corey Lemonier (271), Jason Fanaika & Lenny Jones (0) (Aaron Lynch - 793)
Battle Royale: Has Marcus Rush packed on some pounds? We know Harold did...and Carradine slimmed down. Will Lemonier finally be pushed off the roster? With an expected disruptive DL and strong rotation, will these edge rushers finally be released and become the play makers we had hoped? This isn't so much a battle as it is about reaching potential.

TED: Gerald Hodges (366); Michael Wilhoite (616)
MIKE: Navarro Bowman (1,098)
; Shayne Skov (8) & Nick Bellore (7)
Hybrid SS/IB: Jaquiski Tartt (719); Ray-Ray Armstrong (0)
Battle Royale: Remember, Tartt is the 3rd ILB here in nickel and dime sets...there may be cases where he's the only middle LB. Hodges, once he started was either #1 or #2 in tackles last year in every game. He has talent but was adjusting to the 3-4 and new defense. His idol is Bowman. I don't think there is any competition here at all. But we are thin behind them in terms of skill set. Wilhoite is average at best and we'll have to see how far Skov has come (similar to Scooby).

RCB: Jimmie Ward (730); Dontae Johnson (366) & Rashard Robinson (0)
SLOT (S/CB): Keith Reaser (79); Will Redmond (0), Prince Charles Iworah (0) & Kyle Sebetic (0)
LCB: Tramaine Brock (1,064); Kenneth Acker (807) & Chris Davis (17)
FS: Eric Reid (1,113); L.J. McCray (0), Marcus Cromartie (122) & Jered Bell (0)
SS: Antoine Bethea (440); Jaquiski Tartt (719)
Battle Royale: Now this is an intriguing group indeed. You've got the long lean aggressive press CB's on one side (O'Neil preference), quick-twitch speedsters inside and then off-coverage specialists on the other. You've now got potential play makers at both S's spots with range. I see camp battles all over the place and can't wait to see how it all shakes out.

Special Teams:
LS: Kyle Nelson (140)
PK: Phil Dawson (55); John Lunsford (0)
P: Bradley Pinion (197)
Gunners: Kenneth Acker & L.J. McCray; Kenneth Acker, Keith Reaser & Jaquiski Tartt
Battle Royale: Will Lunsford beat out Dawson and we go with the full youth movement on ST? Also, McCray will be back and he's a good S and an excellent gunner on ST. But who else is in the mix? Kenneth Acker? Keith Reaser? Jaquiski Tartt?

PR/KOR: Bruce Ellington, Bryce Treggs & Quinton Patton
Battle Royale: This is a battle that could include a few more. We absolutely need a stud here. But does one exist on the roster? Have they improved?

Niner Talk:
Negative Spin Artists: Susweel & ChazBoner
Battle Royale: Susweel & Chazboner have had HOF careers but they seem to be slowing down with age; susweel has had some attendance issues and has become less reliable, even skipping out on this year's mini-camp. Chaz also is showing some cracks in his armor and appears to be becoming more of a one-trick pony (Charlton Heston gif); questions have arose about his work ethic and commitment. As both are currently in their contract years and heading towards FA, fans have been displeased with their social media accounts and the amount of time they've spent socializing with positive spin-Seahawks fans and both are big followers of Anthony Davis on Twitter. While both clearly are still quality starters at this late juncture of their careers, it's good to see the WZ GM move up in the draft to acquire pdizo916. pd is raw and unpredictable and a recent scouting report noted potential shifts in personality (positive to negative spins) but his talent is undeniable and if he can be coached up properly and puts forth the effort, he has a chance to unseat Susweel or Chaz as early as next year. PFF currently ranks this unit as 15th among the 32 forums.

Nice write up. Pre-season may be more fun than the regular season. (hope not)
I just hope someone finally knocks out both Patton N McDonald off this roster i mean both of these guys are mediocre players that have yet lived up to expectations. I much rather see a younger hungrier players take their spots. I know what i am getting out of both these chumps.

My camp crush is totally Ray Ray Armstrong at ILB it's a total long shot but I'm still rooting for him
