Pfft, okay. Nope. Which isn't to say that Nolan was not a good candidate, just to say that bringing in someone else besides him is not a mistake on the part of Chip Kelly.

I think Chip was correct in passing on Nolan. Denver, Miami and Atlanta all tried Nolan as DC after he left the 49ers, and all let him go. San Diego then tried him as a position coach (LB) and let him go after one year. There's a trend there.
At least Chip called him back. Points for politeness.
