we do not know the entire story and never will till someone writes a tell all book in 20 years just like they did with joe vs steve. plus the fact the former coach is no longer relevant here

Or, it's possible, that he wants people with no preconceived notions ... as to how, or not how to run a team (from a head coaches POV).

As I heard said (many times), while I was in New York on business, "keep it movin' "

Actually, there was Lord Fangio ... but you make a good point

With Nixon, Rathman, and our OC, you can see Chip wants to get a variety of ideas for the running game. He has his own passing game, but this mix of offensive assistants should be full of good ideas for him to utilize
I agree ... I know it's a "wait and see" situation we have here, but Chip, has mentioned this in severals of his post-hire interviews.

Actuall, I was hoping that Kelly would just ask Rathman to coach the TEs as well ... I always feel that those two positions (RB, H-Back & TE) are married to one another since Joe Gibbs used to use his TE as his lead block in his Double TE offense and just called it H-Back..
Plus, this is the best chance to keep Bruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuccce on the team..

who?
Rathman?? - He's THE ONLY UNTOUCHABLE person in the coaching staff.. as long as he wants to coach in SF and the Yorks are the owner, he will be here.. Rathman is consider a family by the DeBartolo and will never allow anyone to fire him..
Don't forget that he also was the one who was responsible for the team letting go of the late Lawrence Phillips... it was reported that Tom Rathman told the organization after the Steve Young concussion incident vs the Cards that if they don't release Lawrence, that he would walk out.
or you talking Bruce Miller being in the bubble??
I really feel that Bruce will be one of those players that will either get cut last or kept last.. Kelly's offense really has no use for true FBs.. and if Bruce is competing against a young talented defender or WR, I really feel that Chip will cut him and use one of the TE (Vance or Celek) as an H-Back if he needs a FB on certain play..

So many running back coaches in this staff. You think that we might transition towards a pass heavy offense, but these hires tell me otherwise. I am actually looking forward to September again, unlike last year
At the very least we will have a creative running game again.

I'm happy with a run heavy offense as long as it comes with a competent passing offense. If you look at Kelly's first year in the NFL, their rushing offense was #1 in the NFL. Last season, largely due to issues with the OL they fell to #14. I think he's pretty determined to have an aggressive rushing attack and I feel like his experience in Philly last year, where the OL greatly degraded will lead him and Baalke to both seek substantial improvements there.
