ROMAN'S ASSISTANT??

Hahahah

One more on Modkins -- Abdullah averaged 3.6 yards per carry in the first half, 4.7 the final 8 games with Modkins coordinating the run game

As a team, the Lions eclipsed 100 rushing yards just once in the first nine games of the season. In the last seven games, they reached the century mark five times.

He's played a big role. He's done a good job organizing our run game and getting it headed in the right direction, giving me a lot of input and giving me a lot of wisdom. He's been around a while and he's seen a lot of things and he's given me as much information as he can and really trying to help me. He helps me during the game with certain plays he likes or certain concepts he may like, and does a really good job for us.

Huh? He left the Bills long before Roman
Chips' the one calling plays, so this is the one hire I wouldn't sweat over.

. When the HC calls the offense, the OC is basically a gameplanning assistant and is usually focused on the run game. You don't have to look any further than the Arizona Cardinals with Bruce Arians calling the offense. Their OC's only prior coaching experience was as an offensive line coach.

Modkins has handled this sort of role before under Chan Gailey who called all his own plays. Modkins handled the run game, and Buffalo's rushing attack improved every single year. His focus with the 49ers will be the same I imagine.
