Would it put off good D players? I don't know, if a guy is worried about his legacy and wants to finish out his career with record numbers - a guaranteed high snap count might be appealing?

Then they turn around and look at what happened Demarco Murray. What you guys forget is a lot of other teams have money too and even the good teams with little money will always find a way to create cap space to sign top tier FA's if they want them.

Good teams don't break the bank for free agents. Name one big free agent acquisition by a playoff team that is still alive in the postseason....

lol, that was a trade and he's on IR..
but we wouldn't have had Justin Smith if we didn't break the bank a little. Seattle was built through the draft but Michael Bennett and Cliff Avril - both FA signings - are the ones that put them over the top a couple off-seasons ago. NE paid for Revis. Denver paid for Ware. KC paid for Maclin. AZ paid for a new OL over the past 2 years.

We have 50 million. Jeffrey might cost some money and the O linemen. Forte, Fleener should be reasonable deals.
