Game #13 - Good, Bad ugly

The good - improved draft position.

The bad - Gabbert, Tartt.

The ugly - everything else.

The whole season has been ugly from start to finish. Retirements, off field collapses (Smith, Macdonald) and injuries have all contributed to the product on the field.

I don't think this is the year to clean house for a number of reasons. There will be a lot of teams looking for coaching and I'm willing to bet SF isn't going to be high on anyone's list (re: Harbaugh situation). The available pool of coaches looks relatively slim this year anyways. Cleaning house now will just add to the instability of the whole thing.

the 49ers aren't situated all that bad from a cap and draft perspective going into the offseason. That is, they have a high draft slot, some extra picks and a potential returnee into the starting fold (A.Davis). Consider also that they will have lots of cap room to retool.

As to Baalke, consider that Armstead and Tartt are both proving to be good picks.

His 35 yards in the first quarter was an improvement from last week's 5 in the first quarter.
The bad: O, D, STs. and our HC, OC and DC.

Gabbert....if he is to play for us again, then take him out now. Putting a guy we may keep as a backup or a bridge QB will not happen if he plays again behind this OL. They stink...are terrible. Fire martin, devey, pears, and tiller. But do not allow blaine to go back on the field with those swinging gates until he can be protected and right now, that is impossible.

Trent---F . grade. How can a guy with 13-14 pix every yr end up with 4 losers on the OL like pears, devey, martin and tiller. Shame on trent. If that is what he thinks backup OLs are supposed to look like, he needs to ply his trade elsewhere.

He ended up with garbage on the oline because A.Davis walked away after the draft and free agency.

I would like to add that Tomsulas problem is the team doesn't have an identity. For better or worse, Harbaugh brought that identity to the 49ers.

The only thing the Niners were good at today was making the Browns look like SB champs.
The Good - NBA
The Bad - NHL
The Ugly - MLS

Anyone seen Sourdough Sam? Or did he retire as well?
There was absolutely no good there today. That was so embarrassing I stopped watching. How the heck has this team won 4 games?

If this staff returns next year, I may have to find a new team.

It's been soooo bad that many of us have lost all perspective. We're looking for some hope to keep us going. Unfortunately there really doesn't appear to anything that points to even the potential for something to begin to turn this total shipwreck around....This looks as bad or maybe even worse in the dark years or Erickson and Nolan.

The only hope is that Jed gets his ego so bashed that he look in the mirror and realizes that he is the problem and then goes out and hires a real pro as HOFO and gets out of the way.

Yeah.... I'm a Gabbert believer... but he did not play well. He got zero help from the OL, running game, WRs, and play calling. ZERO help. But he didn't help himself either.
If you considered Gabbert as good, we have nothing to look forward to, EVER!

9 sacks says a lot but doesn't even count the number of pressures

He kept plays alive w/his feet.

Zero interceptions

Crap Oline

He didn't move the ball down the field until thay last drive in garbage time. He had a bad game.

The punt after the blocked field goal was rough.

And interception.

Oh he nearly had a pick 6. Lucky for him the ball was a little low and the DB couldn't snag it. Just because didn't have any picks, doens't mean he was good. Oh he did have a couple fumbles we got back. Soooooooooooo

I hope the Yorks are so embarrassed to lose and be so easily handled in their home state in front of their family & friends they get some fire in their guts and drop kick JT. [I don't think they will :(

Felt really bad how hard Navarro was rying but his body just couldn't respond.

The GOOD:

Gabbert – He's been terrific when he has protection. 18/28 194, most on short-med

Dawson – solid

Blake Bell – Liked when Whitner bounced off of Bell. Overall played well – not great

Boldin solid

Tartt

Blocked FG [Too bad the O didn't capitalize on it

Simpson

The BAD:

Injuries Boone, Ward

Pinnion – Got a clinic from Lee on punt placement

Inconsistent run D – gave up 230 on the ground today

Oline [gee, what a surprise] gave up 9 Sacks!!!

The UGLY:

The stats don't tell everything but they do say something very ugly

STATS

Did you watch the game Gabbert was not "good" and Lee's perfect placement and lack of hang time ended up giving us our biggest play of the game. Boldin 2 catches 22 yards? Simpson also failed to run his route correct that easily could have been a Td if he hadn't stopped on the play. There was no good other than the 3 turn overs. (no points off of them)
Good - Forced Turnovers/FG team

Bad - Offense/Defense

Ugly - Baalke, Browns looks more talented than the 49ers on the field. It's just sad considering Baalke had loads of top end picks.
