pass pro was solid today. even the running game was working at times, against one of the best rushing defenses in the nfl.

defense overall was lights-out apparently. if you can hold one of the best offenses down to 13 points, you can call it this way imho.
There was some flow and continuity on offense. Good to see again!

I think playcalling was good at times, and very questionable other times. It was very Roman'esque.
Good
-All the unknown and 2nd string DBs making plays
-Gabbert getting the ball out quick and looking more like an nfl QB with decisive reads and throws
-Devey on the sideline; seeing Brown get some reps at RT
-Bow

Bad
-Drops - Vance McDonald!!!! killing me
-Oline still getting blown up, but played better

Ugly
-Pears terrible at Guard too.

So was this game something to build on? Or was it a fluke first half, trending down second half?

The Good:

Gabbert- He played with heart. I haven't given up on Kaepernick, but the team has options now if the decide to get rid of him and draft a kid to develop.

Young secondary: Ward, Tartt, Johnson, and Cromartie were darn good. Throw in the injured players and Reid's potential and this might be our best unit.

Bowman and Lynch: Bow was dominant and Luynch remains our only real pass rusher.

Celek- He just keeps playing well.

The Bad:

Vance McDonald: His hands are terrible. Even his catches look shaky.

Pass rush- Our biggest need on defense is a partner for Lynch.

The Ugly:

Blocking- Though today was better, our offensive line is still being dominated.

We'll see next game. I think we have some good young talent on defense to look forward to, but our Oline still needs an overhaul.

Marcus Cromartie and Draughn both had great games.
Did it seem like the O line played better?? That was a plus. Gabbert being poised in the pocket was good.

J. Simpson.... Smdh. V. Mcsonald.... Smdh..

G. Celek a huge bright spot. I loved Davis but he was not missed.
Don't really know, watched via Redzone & they showed the 49ers the least out of the 3 late games. (So I missed most of it)

From what I saw:

Good:
Defense came up big for the most part.
Offense moved the ball better & they created more scoring opportunities.
Blaine added a spark.
Oline looked improved.
Backup RBs contributed nicely.

Bad:
Some lapses of concentration in the Secondary & with the dropped passes.

Ugly:
The potentially costly pick by Blaine, however it all worked out in the end.
Bad-Pears & Devey need to sit. Tiller & Brown should be starting from now on.
Good-defense played great game
A lot of good. Was super excited to see Trenton Brown get some playing time.

Blaine was terrific outside of one throw really. Armstead great, Lynch good as usual, Tartt vicious, Draughn looked today a lot like he did in college getting yards after contact.

Lots of positives. And lets not forget, didn't have Boldin today and after the bye he should be back.
