Completely forgot about him. Dominated in the preseason. He should get reps as well

Good call. Forgot about him too. I liked him because not only did he 2-gap and anchor against the run, he could be disruptive and make plays in the backfield. That is seriously lacking with this current group. Would like to see Purcell, Armstead, Carradine get more of a chance.

Do we see the light at the end of the tunnel? Are we going to hang with the bottom feeders and win 4 or 5 games and think there is some hope? When management shows us they are willing to turn this thing around then we'll see change. The team had a winner and threw it away. Ownership gives the impression there was no plan other than getting rid of Coach Harbaugh.

The changes that need to be made NOW are for Jed his dad and his mom to step away from the football operations of the team they can continue to book events at Levis Stadium and be the face of the franchise since that's all they care about. A new and smart CEO has to come in and clean house in the front office.
A new GM has to be put in place Baalke's thugs and projects and ACL tear players have set this team back a GM with a better success rate in the draft and free agency along with the front office who actually has a clue on how to run a team would do wonders for this team.
The coaching staff has to be cleaned out including Tomsula sadly i like the guy but he was and is not ready to run a football team i would love to keep him on staff as a position coach but not as a head coach.
The roster needs some serious work a smart front office and GM working together could improve the roster.
All those things wont happen over night but it seems like it would be a start towards a brighter future instead of the dark cloud we are currently under.

Start Hodges over Wilhoite. He is younger and better in coverage.

I get what youre saying and am not completely disagreeing. Sometimes by dumping all vets and higher prices guys can set a team back even further. Pretty soon you start overpaying for FA's because the loser culture has grown too large.
Maybe we should do more of a slow integration of our young guys playing a bigger role on offense? I'd definitely start at O-line with a benching and at least making Patton and Ellington the first option on a few plays. But I agree with the original poster overall. I think what I have seen from many of our young guys and I want to see more. I also dislike our play on the right side of the O-line and Devey and Pears need to be benched. I would say cut, but we need the bodies in the event of injury.

Maybe Kap will take out Tomsula on one of his sideline overthrows and maybe then we will get a coach that will replace him with Gabbert.

Tomsula is so clueless and lost on the sidelines I don't think he would even notice if Kap hit him square in the nuts with one of his wild passes.

- Play Tiller or Thomas so they get experience. Devey does not have a future on this team.
- Give Harold more snaps rotating with Brooks.
- Work in Hodges to rest Bow or see how he looks next to Bow
- Open up the offensive playbook. No more hand holding for Kap. It's his 3rd year starting. He needs to show he can execute some more elaborate concepts. Do this versus teams that don't have a ferocious pass rush. So next week versus STL would not be a good week to do this. But it's time to sink or swim. No more simple pass plays dominating the game plan.
- Less Dorsey, more Tank. Is he good or not?
- Get a RB rotation in. I don't want Hyde wasting too much mileage this season.
- More Vance/Celek/Bell
- More Armstead

Couple of observations from the antipodes.
A team that shows f**kall daring, creativity or aggression is going to have a crappy season, regardless of the talent. I can't really comment on the play calling or the execution, but the style on the whole lacks courage and is woefully unimaginative and the result of that is a negative downward spiral into a losing rut. At least partly arranged to hold Kaep's hand possibly.
Daring, aggression? At times they look like a dispirited rabble. I didn't see the FG at 4th and a few in the game and I'm glad I didn't. Also the last few minutes of games 5 and 6 were appalling. Lucky to win either of them and really tried our best to lose both. I was literally shaking my head in disbelief.
This stuff is the coaches fault. I don't know if it is a lack of capacity or something else, but without the coach injecting a bit more spark into these absolute basics of winning elite sport we might as well not watch. I like Jim he seems a no nonsense kind of guy, probably get on well with the team. Maybe he lacks imagination but what's stopping him from being more aggressive or even bold?
There are pockets of talent. CK is one amongst several of them. That 50 yard pass on the run was an incredible athletic feat. How many QBs could do that as well as him and there are plenty of other examples of him doing amazing stuff. He is not wooden spoon material. Someone else here wrote that benching him would be the end as far as the 49ers go. Is that true? And why don't teams use two QBs to mix it up or is that being too bold? Is he that delicate? Are all QBs that delicate? Is it pride? His market value?I don't get it.

Stop playing scared, get aggressive, and play with tempo, and passion!
In football its better to be wrong at full speed, than right at half speed!

I fully agree with you.
