This is such an odd post.
There are 49er fans all over the Bay Area. To act like the move to Santa Clara has eliminated the SF locals from coming to the game isn't accurate at all. As a Candlestick season ticket holder for 19 years, we got to know the people around us very well. An overwhelming majority of the fans commuted from other areas of the Bay. It is only logical to assume this is a good sample of the fan base. My relatives and friends in other sections said the exact same thing.
Your Dallas Cowboys hypothetical is a really poor example as well. San Antonio is over FOUR HOURS away from Dallas. That is a far cry from moving 45 minutes to Santa Clara. It would be like the 49ers moving to Lake Tahoe. Of course it would change the fanbase some.
