Please get rid of TJE. I mean the dude produced nothing. He wears an ugly number "63" and he puts off a realy fruity vibe.

So our Defensive Line guru of a head coach can't get his defensive line to get pressure... How ironic

I'm not saying tomsula is good but we just lost a player who was the heart of the defense(Justin Smith) and one that was one of the most solid DL(Ray Mac) so this is a natural struggle.

Best pass rush combo all year was last Thursday when they went with Lynch, AA, Tank, and Brooks. Seattle chipped Lynch trying to slow him down but it did not matter as all three basically meet at Wilson with Lynch getting the sack but in a millisecond later is could have been anyone of the 4. Great rush with only four allowing us to drop 7 in coverage.

Armsted as a +1.6 grad and Carradine +1.1. Williams is next with a -.1
I don't know what is going on but these two need to be playing. Dahl is -.4.2. TJE is -3.5.
Any breakdown for their pass rush grades and their run defense grades for Armstead and Tank?

Dial is garbage. He is too weak in the upper body and too weak in the lower body. Cannot understand for the life of me why Dial is a starter?

The problem is that the current players are strictly specialists. Dorsey and Ian Williams specialize in run stoppage. Armstead and Carradine specialize in pass rush - with no cross over. Their mere presence tips off the opposing offense as to our intentions. Justin Smith and Ray McDonald did both. If AA and Tank are in the game, you know you can run on them. If Dorsey and Ian are there, you throw, because you'll have all day. In my mind, the answer is simple. You start AA, Dial, and Tank along the line. Armstead and Dial do both run stoppage and pass rush. Tank is potentially a weak link in the run, but you at least control where they are most likely going to attack.

IMO AA, Dial and Tank is the best combination because our ILB are very good against the run but poor against the pass. Playing with 3 guys who can have an impact against the pass will help Bowman and Wilhoite.
We also could start Gerald Hodges who is better in coverage than Wilhoite but worse against the run and start AA, Willians and Dial so both our LB corps and D-Line would know how to stop the run or the pass.

This is my hope. My only worry is does he have the athletic ability to handle some of the other responsibilities at OLB?

49ers sign veteran pass rusher Elvis Dumervil to a two-year deal
I love what we have done here as Dumervil gives this a completely better look now.
We have traded in to have the best pressure on the QB in the NFL.
