Kap would fail horribly at WR.
Here is the thing with Kap, great athlete but not fluid at all.
I'd say he'd be able to climb the ladder and bring down a pass among a panel of short DBs and CBs. But, my comment was meant to be strictly jocular while avoiding being inflammatory.

I understand the Oline has been brutal and it has but there are moments and instances where he is not seeing the field/coverage at all at all and delivers inaccurrate passes. Dude will be 28 in less then a month and has been the starter going on 3 years now. No excuses he's gotten progressively worse and worse and worse. I think the 49ers should sit him for a game or two and let him try to see what he's not seeing and maybe hopefully a light will click?
I have a circular logic problem with Kap. Everything you say I agree with. BUT, this is exactly what I saw from Alex Smith and also Gabbert at times. So it leaves me to wonder how much is Kap, how much is coaching, how much is O-line...because I'm sure it's a combination of all 3 to some degree.

we are keeping Kaep, but we need to start Gabbert this weekend.. I would hate for him to take over a game where we are 13 pts behind.. that would be unfair..

Let Colin be colin.. play action passes.. but first we need to upgrade that OL.. he simply doesnt have time to make a play and the defenses know that and they go all out at him.. look, Chicago stuck with Cutler for so many years.. and I dont want to talk about Dallas sticking with Romo.. I say give him one more year, but bring in experienced OC like Norv Turner

bring in Urban Meyer, put Kaep on the bench, get a real QB, and have Meyer come up with innovative packages that bring Kaep in for 3-5 plays per game. That's the only fix I see.
alternatively, cut him. that'll fix it
p.s. was the biggest Kaep fan out there. Defended him to no end. It's just crystal clear now that the path forward is with another QB #Goff

New GM
New Coaching Staff
Draft OL, OL, OL, OL, OL, TE, OL and perhaps one more OL with one of the compensatory picks.

Rescind our NFL status, build a college for blind kids who can't read, and join the Mountain West conference.

Is there a college for blind kids who can read? I wouldn't want them to feel left out or anything.

Dunno, but I see Nevada does a pretty good job.

Why do they have to be blind? Maybe just a school for kids who can't read...

IMO, this is most likely his last year with us...and for the sake of his career, it may be for the best.
But if he were to stay, I'm thinking maybe we can bring in Jeff Garcia to coach him; I mean the guy was pretty vocal about wanting to work with Kaep. Plus, his style was similar, in that he was a mobile running QB. And he is pretty hands-on (I know Warner had limited time with Kaep).
In the end, it all lies with the FO/ownership. I don't quite know what is going on behind the scenes, but it seems like either they really are that clueless and naive or they're up to something sneaky. Maybe a final F.U. to Harbaugh by ruining Kaep.

Draft OL with the first 2 picks particularly RT and RG. Switch to a WCO type style. Hire Steve Young as QB coach. Also restructure his contract so that he makes way less and it's mostly incentive based on performance.
