First off let me agree with everyone else on here. We have played horribly. The coaching hasn't been great. The personnel decisions coming into the season haven't been great. The qb has been bad and the online and TE positions have been horrible. Now let's put our face in the middle of it and do something about it.
First, let's show respect to the opponents we've lost to , Pitt in Pittsburg, Arizona who is leading the best division in football still, and the GB packers with the best qb in football. We could've chalked all these games as losses at the beginning of the season as we have too many 1st, 2nd , and 3rd year players along with the subtraction of so many talented players. We are 1-3 and deservingly so.
It's early in the year and we have great shot at a win next week. The NYG are not world beaters or even half as good as packers. If we win were 2-3. Next up is Balt who has fallen off even harder than we have from 2012. We should definetly win here. Record = 3-3. If we can get back to 500 by the six week it means improvements have been made.
Improvements start with coaching and decision making. The decision has been made across the board. Play all the rookies.
On defense: Armstead is outplaying TJE by far and could be starting in a few weeks. Tart has earned himself a bigger role. Harold has been out playing lemonade since preseason, let him play. This young nucleus of db's is going to be real good and Mangini has been doing good at matching them up on opposing wr/TE.
On offense: before I go oline, let me go TE here. Celek is the best TE on this team he needs to start and play the whole game, Bell should be the primary backup and both McDonald and Vernon should only come in on run plays to help block.
The oline need help, Devey is making Martin look worst than he is, Boone needs to go back to RG so he can get back to playing above avg football. Brown needs to start at RT. The guy will mess up at least once a game but so does Pears and Pears isn't 6-8 350lbs. Thomas needs to start at LG. I like the fact that Martin can rely on Staley on the left and Boone on the Right to help the young guys on each play, instead of just throwing them on an island.
The qb: Kaep has looked and played really really bad, he needs to grow up, everyone knew including himself that this team and this season were on his shoulders. He needs to play and we have all seen him play better before. Time to put your face in the middle of it and let it rip. Throw guys open, call out hot routes at the line, change the direction of the run play at the line and take the authority to audible out of a draw on 3rd and 11.
If kaep can keep pushing through this horrible pass couple games, we could realistically be at 3-3 and then we can take it from there. I'm not throwing in the towel yet, however if we lose next week to the NYG it might be time to hit the draft zone early.
Stay faithful brothers, we have to win next week. Do or die for the season
-note sorry for all the typos and errors on players names, iPhone and spell check are worst than Piers and Devey together.
