I love these advance stats on pro football reference. As I usually do, I checked out Steve 1994 season on advance breakdown. On 3rd down in 1994, Steve had a QB rating of 141......how ridiculous is that? I forgot about that. That now goes up with my favorite things about Steve's 1994 season along with his 77% completion on the road and his ridiculous stats after the philly game(70% 3200yards 39tds 5int 124 rate)
That is insane.
141 QB rating on 3rd down..77% cmp on the road. Just a stone cold killer
After that Eagles game Steve played QB at a near perfect level. Nobody since has matched that level of play imo, not even '07 Brady or '11 Rodgers. Especially when you consider what Steve did in the SB. So glad I got to see it as a kid.
And that was in 10 1/2 games (he didn't play the 2nd half against Minnesota in Week 17).
He "cooled off" a bit in the playoff games - 53/87 (61%) 623 yds, 9 TDs, 0 INTs. But his team scored 44, 38, and 49 points, so I can let that slide.
