Alright, so the first look at our current Depth Chart, What stands out to you?

First thing i noticed is the Offensive Line, and thinking will it work. With Looney at Center? interesting, obviously all these things are subject to change.

But for RG that was pretty known as well as Pears at RT. I'm really hoping to see Deandrew White get some play time to see what all the Hype is about.

Defensively i'm little surprised to see Dockett so far back, i thought he would be a forsure starter, still not to sure how Dorsey will pan out as a DE on a 3-4 LINE.

Obviously was the Cory Lemonier threw me off, but it makes sense, since Lynch is not practicing yet, and Harold is a rookie, plus Brooks is on the opposite side.

Very excited to see Moody and Bowman on the Inside though.

My only other question is Shareece wright opposite of Brock, now i thought Reaser was an easy shoe in to start.

But i guess this is why we have these games to make those adjustments.

Cant' wait for Saturday

It's, for the most part, completely insignificant. "Veterans" will almost always be noted first. I've got my own that I reference (that I feel is more accurate). Like JT said, they are required to put something down on paper...but there are base 'starters,' nickel starters, dime starters, etc. Lots of personnel packages and rotation this year so the depth chart is even more insignificant.

shocking that Farrel is the 3rd center option

Also that McFadden is so far down the depth chart at CB

This...people are really really overreacting to this 1st preseason depth chart lol

Well like i was said, all these things are subject to change, which is why we have these preseason games.

It's all about trying different things and seeing what works best.
QB: Kaepernick, Gabbert, Thompson
FB: Miller, Millard
RB: Hyde, Bush, Hunter, Davis, Hayne, Gaskins
OL: Staley, Boone, Kilgore, Martin, Pears/Brown, Looney, Thomas, Farrell, Silberman
TE: Davis, McDonald, Carrier, Bell, Celek, Anderson
WR: Smith, Boldin, Simpson, Patton, Ellington, White/Anderson/Jacobs

DL: Dorsey, Williams, Dial, Dockett, Carradine, Armstead, TJE, Okoye, Ramsey
ILB: Bowman, Wilhoite, Moody, Wheeler/Bishop, Skov, Bellore (Makes it for st though)
OLB: Brooks, Lynch, Lemonier, Harold (soon will pass lemonier), Lemon
CB: Brock, Wright, Johnson, Ward, Reaser, Acker, McFadden/Cromartie
S: Reid, Bethea, Dahl, Tartt, McCray

That would be my depth chart. If you wanted my final roster:

QB: Kaepernick, Gabbert
FB: Miller, Millard
RB: Hyde, Bush, Hunter, Davis
OL: Staley, Boone, Kilgore, Martin, Pears/Brown, Looney, Thomas, Silberman (has edge over farrell since cost a draft pick)
TE: Davis, McDonald, Carrier, Bell (we should IR Rory Anderson)
WR: Smith, Boldin, Simpson, Patton, Ellington (white would beat out anderson/jacobs but no room for 6 wr with 4 te)

DL: Dorsey, Williams, Dial, Dockett, Carradine, Armstead (I'm sure TJE makes it though)
ILB: Bowman, Wilhoite, Wheeler/Bishop vs Moody (I say Moody wins), Bellore (ST)
OLB: Brooks, Lynch, Lemonier, Harold
CB: Brock, Wright, Johnson, Ward, Reaser, Acker
S: Reid, Bethea, (ward), Tartt (I'm sure Dahl makes it though)

ST: Dawson, Pinion, Nelson

That's 26 O, 24 D, 3 ST..... I could also see Silberman getting cut and White making it so 6 wr and 4 te. A shock would be McDonald/Carrier cut and 3 TE's and 6 WR's.

Which is more of a down grade from the first depth chart?

Pears starting in place for Davis

or

Lemonier starting in place for Smith

I think it is Lemonier because if he wins the starting job he will not register more then 5 sack the whole year.

Plug Carradine into Lemoniers spot, and go with a Seifert style 4-3 under

Lemonier is NOT starting. It's just a veteran nod on paper.

Why is everyone picking Wright as the other starting corner?

Guy was terrible, Voting REASER

Where you been? He and Brock have been the two most standout CB's thus far.

I could see Johnson or Wright... it was a close call for me. I was going to put Wright/Johnson. As for Wright I think they can get the most out of him like with Carlos Rogers.

Ncommand, I know you're on top of things because you include Blake Bell as emergency QB on your depth chart. Good thinking. I'll agree that we keep 2 qbs... no need for a 3rd when we will need the spot if we keep 2 fb's, 4 te's, 4 rb's and 6 wr's. Something has got to give on one of those... we can't keep max out of all those spots even with 2 qb's. Could be a tough cut at TE/RB/WR.

Bell could be a feasible emergency backup at a couple of positions, but has he been playing anything other than TE? I understand you guys are saying he would be an emergency QB, but it seems somewhat unrealistic to just throw him in there with no reps.

At the same time, if we only dress/keep 2 QBs, who else is there?
