I really pay no attention to pre season's W & L.... I enjoy watching players on the bubbles play..
and I wish this coaching staff would already know by the 2nd pre season which players have made it and/or in the bubbles, then allow the rest of the pre season decide who amongst those should be replaced by the ones who shinned the most the rest of the pre season..

I think sanchez is alright. I think he could win your team a couple games if qb1 went down. Garoppolo is going to end up a stud. The rest of them pretty much suck though

Its hard to judge where your at as a team when the team your playing doesn't really care whether they win or lose. I think we went undefeated in preseason during the suit years, the final score means nothing. Individual match ups are about the only thing that you can hang a hat on in preseason.
For us, ideally, 1st team comes in lights it up, plays are crisp and on time, Kaep is on point, and o-line is steady. Not to worried about the defense, don't know why, but I'm just not.

Pre-season is only good for evaluating individual players, not what the team's performance will be once the real games start.
You are right on the mark. I recall the Niners Vs. Aint's pre-season game. Those blitz packages they were doing. I was wishing for an offensive line after the first couple of snaps. We all know how that playoff matchup resulted
I just hope they utilize pre season to evaluate the talent fpr the young guys stepping in

Yup. Good example with that Saints game, the OL looked like a mess. It didn't take them very long before they became one of the best lines in the league. Not saying that's going to happen this time around, but it's important to note that what you see in pre-season is not necessarily what you'll see in the real games. Players get better with experience and continuity.
I just hope fans are realistic in their pre-season expectations. There is a massive amount of change, and the OL isn't settled. There are going to be growing pains, and it wouldn't surprise me at all if they stunk up the joint. I can already see fans freaking out over such a scenario, but the fact is the OL is going to need some time to gel. 4 out of 5 positions have a new starter and we're installing a new blocking scheme.

We should never feel we're stuck.. we always have a choice.. if this coaching staff really feels that we are in a bad shape with the back up QBs, then why not release them right now and start looking for other backups that they will be more comfy with??
Who's out there at the moment that we can feel the comfort just in case Kaep needs to be benched??

There are certain things to look for in preseason games, winning isn't one of them. The super bowl niners usually looked bland and rarely posted 3-1 preaseason marks. The schemes are bland, coaches do this cause they want to see a players talent shine thru and not the scheme. The thing is if they individually looked good, they will be that much better when the scheme helps them go to another level. Like DB's guarding players on an island without too much blitzing. Or DL getting sacks without much help with stunts or blitzing etc.

The first team offense couldn't do squat, Kap almost got killed in the Chargers game and lo and behold, that was a harbinger of the season to come. At the time most of us dismissed it as the coaches holding back the playbook and that it was "just preseason". But the team looked broken on offense and that carried into the season.
So we'll know right away where the team is offensively on Saturday. My view of the season will be shaped by the preseason. I dismissed it last season, but never again.
I remember that too. Thinking it was going to get fixed and it never did. What a joke.

First play is a deep bomb to Torrey Smith that it overthrown and incomplete. Book it.
